I'm reaching out to the community because I am unable to get ANY assistance from ebay, which is extremely frustrating.
Ever since ebay switched over to their own payment system, away from Paypal, I have had various problems within the system.
I found out that the auto unpaid preference that I had set up was reset to not being active. After speaking with 3 different ebay representatives over the phone, each walking me thru the set up, it still does not work.
Ebay used to send out and email to the buyer letting them know they had to make payment within 4 days otherwise the transaction would be closed.
The system now automatically CLOSES out the sale rather then generating an email and THEN rather than automatically relisting the item (for free), the item does not get relisted. I have had many people make their payment after receiving the email from ebay, but now, no email is sent so not only does the seller lose a sale, but the item isn't automatically relisted.................and.......who knows if they are even crediting the seller fee's without doing some research.
I spoke to a ebay rep again today who while helpful, wasn't able to provide me with any information as I believe she didn't understand the full problem. I requested to speak with a supervisor and as I am typing this, have been on hold for over 40 minutes.
This is really frustrating since I am a full time seller and at what we pay for this site, I would hope that we would receive far better support.
Am I alone????????????????????

That has nothing to do with managed payments. The change to how unpaid items are handled was part of the Spring Seller Update.
FAQ here-

And no- you're not alone when it comes to frustrations with CS having no clue what they're talking about. Come here for help instead and you'll usually get a quick and accurate answer to your question.

According to that, the seller is given the option of cancelling the sale after 5 days but in this case and other recent posts, it sounds like ebay is doing that on their own.

eBay is automatically cancelling in instances where a seller had the UPI assistant turned on. In instances where sellers used a manual process, eBay left the cancels as a manual process. I can verify this with different accounts of mine that had and didn't have the UPI assistant turned on.
The OP can go in to adjust their settings to turn off the automatic process if they want- or leave it automated and activate the automatic relist setting they're asking about.
They can control all of those settings on this page- https://www.ebay.com/Cancel/Preference/UnpaidPurchase
Editing to add a screenshot of what this looks like-

Thanks for the information, I wasn't aware of this change. With the old format, if the buyer didn't pay within a certain period, then ebay would create the unpaid notice and send the buyer an email. The buyer then had I believe 3-4 days to pay, and if they didn't pay, ebay would then close out the transaction. With the new format, I have it set up for ebay to take action after 4 days, however rather than sending out notification to the buyer that they needed to pay, ebay is immediately cancelling the transaction. My issue is that in the past, many buyers would make payment when they received the notification from ebay, whereas now, the buyer isn't getting an email about having to make payment, rather, the transaction is closed out.
Also, when I spoke to the customer service rep today, she confirmed that the process is..............after 4 days from the sale date, if the buyer doesn't pay, then ebay will send the buyer a notification that gives them 3-4 days to then make payment. If they don't make the payment within the 3-4 days, then ebay closes out the transaction. This is not happening.
Lastly, just an FYI, after I spoke to customer service for about 25 minutes, I wasn't convinced she knew what she was talking about, so I asked her to transfer me to a supervisor, which she did. I then waited on hold for over 50 minutes without a supervisor coming on line. I couldn't wait any longer, so I had to hang up. That is extremely poor customer service and it would be nice if ebay took the time to read these posts and respond.
