Hi Everybody. I know, that I am not alone with this ISSUE!!! Ebay Service Metrics System is ABSOLUTELY not fair to Seller. Ebay just got one more way to get extra profit from us. Let me get you a few examples from my account
1. Buyer gave me an offer and I accepted it. No payment received with in 4 days, even after multiple reminders. I opened Unpaid case. After case was closed, in about a week, buyer open Item Not received case. Of course case was closed in my favor, BUT I have this case in my Service Metrics. CRAZY!!!!
2. Another case Not as Described. After eBay representative reviewed buyer explanation why Item not as described and my listing description, case was closed in my favor. Guess what, On my Service Metrics as well.
I have a few other similar cases, closed in my favor and ALL OF THEM on my Service Metrics.
Alot of buyers just used system to get their money item+shipping back by opening cases such us Not as described. And it hits us (sellers). If case resolved in seller favor, it SHOULD NOT BE on Service Metrics!!!!!!!
Is anybody knows how to fight this disaster. May be we can make some petition and sign it to ask eBay bosses to review this issue. Or something else, but we have to fight it.
Same was with situation when eBay did not let start promotion company for first 14 days (if i remember correct), but after a bunch of complains, it was reversed back to original.
God bless all GOD Ebay sellers and buyers.

This one is not going to change- petition etc. They used to just 'kick' off people that had too many returns. Now, they penalize, but you still keep your business.
The 'metrics' shows the average for that product line, so it's not like people are compared 'clothing' to 'pictures'.
The metrics are avail, with the 'magic average' for any seller to see at anytime. The work around would be if you are inching up to close for comfort, do 'free returns', and check these metrics every time you get a return.
Business has to be looked at for the annual amount of 'doing business', so 'free returns' would cost 1% or 3% of profits, but the increases fvf's will cost you 5%. Factor these numbers into the selling price and you are covered.
Bottom line is, ebay doesn't want returns just like seller don't- if you have too many, fix it before it get's out of hand, or just know you are going to pay more fvf's and factor that into selling price.
