eBay listings

I resell a lot of Home Depot products. So I have to list 50-100 products daily and I have to manually save pictures from the Home Depot site for each product to list on eBay then add the UPC and model numbers. Then I have to do my own description and copy some from Home Depot's. Then I have to do the price markdown sale manually too. Which takes so much time. Does anyone know any tool or website that can do all that for me ?

Re: eBay listings

From the way everyone is coming at me seems like you are all jealous or feel that you can’t do the same thing. If you guys are actually trying to help. You would say something like hey keep in mind you are not supposed to do this or that. But wow a lot of haters out there man.

Re: eBay listings

I will stick to your question.

Honestly, I find your question ridiculous.

Yes, listing items for sale is hard work.

Where you get you items from is irrelevant.

All of us sellers go through the same thing.

We work hard to list our items.

Is there an easier way?

Yes, hire someone to do it for you.

Welcome to ebay.

But when we DID "say something," you didn't care for what was said.

That doesn't make us "jealous" or "haters" -- we are simply pointing out the "red flags" that may eventually come back to bite you.

Don't blame us -- you turned the eBay spotlight directly upon yourself.

There is no red flags and there is absolutely nothing I'm doing wrong. So not sure what you’re talking about

There are easier ways to do things now. There are different tools that can help. Stick to the old method you are using and keep wasting hours on listing when it can be minutes.

Re: eBay listings

@homevarietyoutlet  If you're listing a lot of duplicate products or products with the same attributes, you can create templates for them so you don't have to recreate listings from scratch each time. No site will magically take photos and create listings for you, that you have to do for yourself, but looking into a third party listing tool will at least allow you to archive and set up some automation. I wouldn't use AI for descriptions - the state of the tech on this site is laughable and you'll get waltzy, gushing descriptions for those shower heads or spigots or whatever.

As far as I'm concerned - what you sell is your own business, but there are some pitfalls detailed upthread that you should just be aware of.

I'd love to do what you're doing, but I'm too chicken (and don't have sources).

"There is no red flags "

Fine -- have it your way.

But the rest of us seem to see a convention of bullfighters all over your site.

Don't say that we didn't warn you. . ..

Re: eBay listings

So been doing it for 3 years with no complaints or anything and you see red flags?

Home Depot pictures? I’m allowed to use them.

Receipt of purchase? I have all that and filed my taxes.
what am I doing wrong??

It's very unusual for a large national, multi-state business corporation such as Home Depot to simply "allow" an employee to use their own promotional photographs -- especially when the employee is using those photographs to sell the identical items from their own website.

Have you confirmed permission with the national headquarters for Home Depot?  How about their Human Resources department?  Are they aware that you are in competition with your employer?

Home Depot has a series of websites of its own -- and so do you, selling the same products as your employer.

Legally, that's referred to as "a conflict of interest" -- you are competing with your own employer, using the identical products, and even using your employer's photographs.

Most of the workplaces at which I was employed considered that the basis for instant termination.

So you ask "what am I doing wrong?"

If Home Depot doesn’t want me selling those products the how come I have and am selling them? Do you think they can’t stop me?

Re: eBay listings

From ebay's Images, videos and text policy:

  • Infringing content – Video, images or audio content that is used without permission from the respective rights owner is not allowed.

Can I use images or videos that I copied from other websites on eBay?

No, you can't use images or videos from a manufacturer's website, even if it is publicly available. Copying content from other websites or internet searches may be considered copyright infringement.

What content is allowed?

You may use images, videos or text on eBay as long as your use of that content does not infringe third-party rights and the content follows our Offensive materials policy. For further information, see our full policy below.

Have you tried using the Bulk Editing Tool?  You still have to input everything but it saves time once you get use to using it.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/listing-tips/bulk-listing-tool?id=4160&st=3&pos=1&query=B...

Manage your listings

The Bulk Listing Tool

The Bulk Listing Tool makes managing up to 2,000 listings easier and more efficient. Using the tool, sellers can relist items, revise existing listings, sell similar products, and finish multiple drafts.

The tool can be accessed in multiple ways from Seller Hub:

Seller Hub entry points

The Bulk Listing Tool makes it easy for sellers to:

  • keep track of and edit up to 2,000 listings using photo thumbnails and table view
  • set pricing for multiple Buy it Now and Auction items at once
  • save time managing details of your Volume Pricing and Promoted Listings
  • overwrite pricing to the same value when applying “Change to” across listings by a specific dollar amount
  • schedule the start time and set the intervals for multiple listings

Tip
You can increase or decrease pricing across multiple listings by applying a total percentage or dollar amount.

  • Inventory size: Medium (Up to 2000 listings)
  • Tool complexity: Low
Top Takeaway

The right listing and editing tools depend on the size of your business, as well as the number and format of listings you have.

The stuff your selling does not seem like the stuff that is being targeted for theft.

Mostly it is the Tools that are stolen for resale.  News Reports about Home Depo and Lowes stolen items are becoming more common.  Check out this one from last week.

Re: eBay listings

what are the red flags

While maybe not a red flag the following looks suspicious and would raise some questions if I was a buyer looking for this item. You have the following item listed with free 4 day shipping. You are in Denver, CO and I am in Virginia. Unless you are getting some special shipping deal the cheapest expedited 4 day delivery I was able to find for an item that size and weight from Denver to Virginia is around $200. You have free returns so hopefully you don't have to bear the shipping cost both ways.

Following is the exact item on Amazon. If I was looking for one which one do you think I am going to buy?
