eBay commissions

My buyer wanted(and did) to pay cash at pickup. I owe a commission to eBay. How do I pay it?

If you sold it thru ebay you should have order details. On that page it should have a breakdown of the fees.

You did something wrong.

Buyers are not supposed to pay cash at pickup for this very reason. 

But I must say, it's commendable that  you want to give ebay their cut.

I thought the fees would be taken out of either your existing funds or your payment source.

Find the item in your Awaiting Shipment (or maybe Awaiting Payment) list, use the drop down on the left to Mark As Picked Up.

This will trigger eBay to bill you for the fees and also it will remove it from the Buyers awaiting payment list.

Buyers are allowed to pay cash at pick-up it's even an option you can show in your listings. What is not allowed is to ONLY allow buyers to pay on pickup.

Ebay doesn't know it was paid for until you tell them.  So go to your transaction and mark it as picked up or shipped.  Whatever is the best option, then the fees will come out of your Managed Payment account.

If an item is listed as Local Pickup Only or has Local pickup (LPU)  as an option when a buyer wins or commits to buy selecting LPU  they receive a message that has a QR code and a six digit numeric code in it. When they meet, the seller scans the QR or manually enters the numeric code, signalling ebay that full payment was received.  Since the transaction seems to have been completed try contacting the buyer and ask them for the 6 digit code it should be in their messages.

The only issue that can pop up with LPUs is, if for some reason the price is renegotiated.  eBay would not be aware of the change and the fees would be for the price shown on the listing.  The only work around for that would be for the buyer to request cancellation, and for the seller cancel, then to relist it w/ the new price.  The buyer would get a new 6 digit code they can send to the seller, who then enters it to the listing. That can be done after the buyer pays the renegotiated price.

If the buyer wants to cancel for some reason the best way to handle that is to ask them to send you a message through ebay messages, requesting cancellation, so you can cancel the transaction without receiving a defect.
