Re: eBay Seller News January 2026

@valueaddedresource  Thanks for posting that!

The Fashion Fund will be good news for a select few sellers I'm guessing. I can safely ignore it. (And, just an aside, a respected fashion blogger recently pointed out that "sustainability" is actually very low on the list of reasons for buyers to buy secondhand, and she indicated clothing sellers would be better off leaning into marketing based on other factors: quality, selection, price, etc.)

And I see the Ads Team has been so busy adding the customization element to Store promotions that they forgot to include a reminder about the major attribution rule taking effect in their much larger ad product, general ad campaigns.

And even so, we have the little lost boy for now....LOL Guess I'll check back later to see what excitement there is in store advertising.

(after all, it wouldn't be an ebay announcement if there wasn't a glitch in the announcement somewhere. I've spent over 20 years trying to explain "proofreading" to ebay, to no avail LOL)

Re: eBay Seller News January 2026

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques  a premature publish with broken links....that's so eBay, right? 😂

And yeah, considering how often these news update having included reminders/not really new things in the past....the lack of anything about the Promoted Listings General attribution changes is very telling indeed.

Guessing they are going with the "don't poke the bear" strategy and hoping for the best.

LOL and now the main URL has been taken down too....guessing they weren't planning on releasing it today and someone just hit publish too early. 🙃

"....guessing they weren't planning on releasing it today and someone just hit publish too early."

Or maybe an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period has caused processing delays.

@valueaddedresource   ebay : starting the New Year off in a typical, magical ebay way.

At ebay, the Magic Word isn't "Abracadabra", it's "Oops!"

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques once again, we are all the lost little boy...or is eBay the lost little boy in this scenario unable to find their way out of their own hoodie? 😂

Re: eBay Seller News January 2026

The "devil parka kid" used to be funny because we'd run into that screen so often, and the help pages were no help trying to get through to CS.

Now the image is pretty much irrelevant because while an error page does pop up occasionally, it's not all the time like it was before, and now it's so easy to report a tech issue with the ? that there's no need to go through the help pages for a tech problem.

Thought I'd post the image one last time just for fun. You can tell how old it is by the fact the search bar is squared off. hah

Edit: I can spell.

Re: eBay Seller News January 2026

@valueaddedresource  I don't see anything about the ad Attribution change on the Announcement page, but I see they finally posted a message about it at the top of Seller Hub and the Advertising page in Seller Hub, with a link to the original announcement:

We’ve updated our Promoted Listings program
We’ve made two important updates to our Promoted Listings program for items listed on ebay.com, ebay.ca, and cafr.ebay.ca.
