eBay Seller Fees

Hello eBay Community,

I have a question about eBay's Final Value fee?

Is the percentage that eBay keeps for anything you sell through their website,

a fixed amount or does it change depending on your seller level

I was looking at my sales for March and April 2021 and it looks like the 

Final Value fee for eBay was 12%

but in May and June 2021 it was 17%

In March and April I know my seller status was Top Rated

and in May and June I was moved down to above average 

So my question is

is the Final value fee based on your seller status

Fee's can vary regarding a store or some categories, and seller ratings - have a look here

Also fvf's are calculated on the total the buyer pays

Item + shipping + tax (tax can vary from state to state)

TRS sellers do get a break. 5% sounds about right. Although in most categories the FVF rate is 12.55% + .30c on the total amount the buyer paid, including shipping and sales tax.

Final Value Fee based on (purchase price + shipping costs + sales tax) plus 30 cent handling charge.

Not between Top Rated and Above Standard. But if you go Below Standard, there are penalty fees. 

Final value fees can vary based on item category, store subscription level, Managed payments  vs. PayPal, promoted listing percentages, shipping cost paid by buyer, sales tax paid by buyer, seller being below standard, buyer being registered in another country, items being shipped to another country, excessive disputes, and probably a couple others I cannot think of right now. 

And if you are in managed payments, dont't forget that ther eis a 30 cent fixed fee per transaction. That 30 amounts to an added 6% on a $5 sale and 3% on a $10 sale.
