Hi all,
I had a quick question regarding messaging in the eBay system. I know you are not allowed to sell outside of eBay, but if you send a buyer links to ebay.com to your other items listed is that allowed? It still gives me the warning that says not to conduct business outside of eBay, but I'm just trying to show them my other items.
Is ebay going to flag me or strike my account for this? Should I stop sending links to other ebay items or what is the best option here? I just want to make sure my account isn't getting in trouble for that, it shouldn't but I don't know why it gives you that warning when you're only linking to ebay.com/itm/xxxxxxxx.
Thank you

Because the bots pick it up as a link and they don't care where it goes to.

Just a few hours ago I had a buyer ask a question about an item that had ended. I have a similar item listed for sale. I sent them the direct Ebay URL to that item. It went through fine. No bells, whistles, flashing lights or red warning signals.

If they put some mark against your account for something like this would you receive an email about it or notification or is it hidden? I just don't want a mark against my account for something so dumb.
Thanks all

If you just sold an item to this buyer her email addy is in your selling record. Send her an email from your personal email with the link.

No, you're not going to be in trouble for doing it. I'm assuming it's in response to a question......not that you are just sending the link out wholesale.....that would be spamming and against rules.
Blues have the "warning" is general and should be ignored as long as it's clear you aren't trying to take a sale off Ebay.
I think I am going to be a bit more careful sending the links by adding something like "this is a link to my ebay item"......... but I'm still going to send them, if a buyer needs one..........
