Hello,
Friday my sales began to tank - after looking more into it, because I began to receive numerous emails from international buyers asking for quotes I found out the following:
- I was migrated to eBay international shipping
- I had to turn off any other international shipping option
the result: 95% of my listings no longer have the international shipping option & Customers new & past are messaging me that I no longer ship to them.
I’ve submitted 2 tickets and IT has no idea what’s going on.
As a workaround I opted out of the program - global shipping is no longer available so my only option is eBay Standard International which is a disaster and shouldn’t be used and the usps and ups options. I then opted back in, and the same items showing that they ship International under the usps and ups int’l shipping now again don’t show the option to ship internationally under this new program.
Any visibility on this ?

Hey @jamjoathletics. There are a few factors you need to look at, but you first need to re-enable EIS.
The first one is whether or not you use business policies. If you do, you'll need to update those policies to include EIS.
The other thing is to go into a listing that appears problematic - edit it and go down to the shipping section. Chances are you have set up direct shipping methods that are overriding EIS to some (or all) countries.
If you want a pretty comprehensive run down of EIS you can read this discussion thread. Fair warning: it's beastly in length & some of the info in the lead post was later clarified by eBay reps in a later post. (link) If you're going to use EIS I do suggest reading through it when you have the time. It covers a lot of common questions & quirks relating to the program.

I have always found eBay International Standard Delivery to be very reliable.
I recently switched back as the new program wouldn't allow the sending of invoices or combining of shipments.

Thank you - I've used international standard, and it was an adventure with a good amount of items just going missing with no tracking. All said I lost around $500 in lost items...

I'm a little confused. What are you trying to achieve? I got switched over to EIS a couple of months ago & for the most part, it's been very smooth. I agree that EISD is problematic, based on everything I've read about it.
Why did you opt out of EIS, if you want to still be able to ship internationally? EIS is the replacement for GSP. You should have received an email &/or a message in My Messages, when you got opted in. If you can tell us a bit more about HOW you want to ship internationally, we may be able to help.

To be more clear, when I was opted into the program 95% of my listings now are no longer showing the international shipping option. I'm getting a ton of emails with international customers asking me for quotes... I followed the instructions to the letter, but the program is not working properly - when I go to revise the items not showing international shipping option to the customer, I can see the new shipping program on the listing via revised listing option.

Is it still possible for US sellers to ship to Canada without any of these wrascally programs? I know many sellers have been opted in without understanding the ramifications from this side of the border. From a Canadian perspective it would be soo much nicer as a Canadian to find US listings that did not have them attached. When it floats directly with USPS/Canadapost (especially on low value) items, goods arrive quicker, without risk of customs processing and potentially with (the biggie) cheaper shipping. Biggest downfall of GSP was parcel being handed off to a 3rd party and either leaving on a front step in plain sight or having no access to community mailboxes.

About an hour I looked at your listings from Canada, I saw that some of them using ebay international shipping, some using usps Priority and many with shipping to US only. I had to go for a bit and when I came back all of your listings except about 6 or 7 had shipping to Canada with ebay international standard. Did you change it or did ebay change it?
02-20-2023 01:09 PM
Yes I changed it until the issue is resolved... Some were showing ebay int'l shipping option, but most aren't.

Ok thank you for clarifying. I'm not sure I'm going to be much help after all. Once I was opted in, all my listings showed EIS. There was nothing I needed to do. I average about a sale a week with EIS. I would reccomend that you turn off any of your own shipping & then give us an example of a listing that you don't think is being shown as EIS. That said, I'm about to go into a 4 hour class, so I can't help too much this afternoon. @pjcdn2005 is very knowledgable in this area, as is @wastingtime101 , though I'm not sure if they are around this afternoon.

Good to know. I thought that I was going a little crazy.
There have been a few reports from ebay international shipping sellers that only some of their listings were transferred over. I wonder if there is a common denominator of why some seem to be seamless but many are not. Do you use business/shipping policies?
I noticed that you have a few different 'ship to' locations so I thought perhaps you were using different policies.
Do you use business/shipping policies?

@lotzofuniquegoodies Sorry, I'm not the best one to answer that, as I like being in the programs & so I only shipped via one of the programs. I believe it's still possible to do so, but not if you're in EIS. It was possible if you're in GSP, to do both. With EIS, it's all or nothing, a global switch. That said, I have read of several people who have figured out a way around it, but I suspect that's a loophole that will be closed at some point.
However, I *think* if someone doesn't use either of the programs, they can still ship direct to our neighbors to the North.

@pjcdn2005 I do NOT use Business Policies & never have.
Also, it's possible that if only a few of OP's listings were not converted over, that the system deemed them not eligible for EIS, either due to price limit or other program exceptions.

Ok - I turned it back on. Thank you for your help

@jamjoathletics Please post an example or two, either a link or item #, of a couple that are not getting converted over. That will help anyone to better diagnose or see if we see a pattern. I'll try to check in after my class, but it's lengthy, so I can't promise. You're in good hands though.

Not sure how enforcement would/could be a thing? What would stop a seller from using stamps dot com or going to a postal outlet and sending. Then updating the tracking. If you did send outside the program does someone from the local police force show up and slap your fingers? 😟 Yikes!!!
