Hello,
Friday my sales began to tank - after looking more into it, because I began to receive numerous emails from international buyers asking for quotes I found out the following:
- I was migrated to eBay international shipping
- I had to turn off any other international shipping option
the result: 95% of my listings no longer have the international shipping option & Customers new & past are messaging me that I no longer ship to them.
I’ve submitted 2 tickets and IT has no idea what’s going on.
As a workaround I opted out of the program - global shipping is no longer available so my only option is eBay Standard International which is a disaster and shouldn’t be used and the usps and ups options. I then opted back in, and the same items showing that they ship International under the usps and ups int’l shipping now again don’t show the option to ship internationally under this new program.
Any visibility on this ?

Hey @jamjoathletics. There are a few factors you need to look at, but you first need to re-enable EIS.
The first one is whether or not you use business policies. If you do, you'll need to update those policies to include EIS.
The other thing is to go into a listing that appears problematic - edit it and go down to the shipping section. Chances are you have set up direct shipping methods that are overriding EIS to some (or all) countries.
If you want a pretty comprehensive run down of EIS you can read this discussion thread. Fair warning: it's beastly in length & some of the info in the lead post was later clarified by eBay reps in a later post. (link) If you're going to use EIS I do suggest reading through it when you have the time. It covers a lot of common questions & quirks relating to the program.

Why did you opt out of EIS, if you want to still be able to ship internationally? EIS is the replacement for GSP. You should have received an email &/or a message in My Messages, when you got opted in. If you can tell us a bit more about HOW you want to ship internationally, we may be able to help.
Is it still possible for US sellers to ship to Canada without any of these wrascally programs? I know many sellers have been opted in without understanding the ramifications from this side of the border. From a Canadian perspective it would be soo much nicer as a Canadian to find US listings that did not have them attached. When it floats directly with USPS/Canadapost (especially on low value) items, goods arrive quicker, without risk of customs processing and potentially with (the biggie) cheaper shipping. Biggest downfall of GSP was parcel being handed off to a 3rd party and either leaving on a front step in plain sight or having no access to community mailboxes.

@lotzofuniquegoodies Sorry, I'm not the best one to answer that, as I like being in the programs & so I only shipped via one of the programs. I believe it's still possible to do so, but not if you're in EIS. It was possible if you're in GSP, to do both. With EIS, it's all or nothing, a global switch. That said, I have read of several people who have figured out a way around it, but I suspect that's a loophole that will be closed at some point.
However, I *think* if someone doesn't use either of the programs, they can still ship direct to our neighbors to the North.
Not sure how enforcement would/could be a thing? What would stop a seller from using stamps dot com or going to a postal outlet and sending. Then updating the tracking. If you did send outside the program does someone from the local police force show up and slap your fingers? 😟 Yikes!!!

Enforcement is built into the system. If a sale is EIS, just like when it was GSP, you can't choose to just go ship it on your own. I'm pretty sure the local police doesn't show up LOL & I'm not sure what the first issue to crop up would be, probably the fact that you shipped to a different address than what you were supposed to. It's eBay that would slap your hand eventually. I've never heard of anyone doing it, so IDK what would happen, the hub may have an INR, I don't know, but it would be very problematic to do, as being in the program, requires you to use the program & the first part of that is that you ship to a different address, plus they handle all the customs/taxes/etc.
If you're not in the program though, you s/b able to ship to Canada on your own.

FWIW - USPS First Class Parcel International does include tracking at least to Canada.
Most of what American sellers seem to want from the GSP etc, is tracking so this could be an option.

In the past with GSP it was possible for a US seller to opt out on a listing by listing basis. Probably not so easy with this new program. As I understand it there are still no workaround for sellers wanting to ship using combined shipping. (From my research from the dot CA side.) If that is in the works or has a time frame attached it's not posted anywhere that I know of? We(North of border folks) often hear "working on it" but then nothing ever happens. As for outside those programs, it's been getting more difficult the last few years to locate sellers who do not use any eBay specific programs. (Almost to the point where I would pay for a filter to block those programs. Almost!!!
Real crime. Like shipping without permission!!

I have been working with the FB support team. This is making me beat my head against the wall.
One thing for sure...it takes up to 48 Hours for changes (opt-in for example, or removing an existing option and waiting for EIS to take over) to propagate through all your listings....
All my listings were GSP...loved it, not 1 single issue....
started migrating over a month ago.....
some were OK, some were not....

@lotzofuniquegoodies Correct, it was easy (well not easy, but doable with GSP). It is presently NOT meant to be doable with EIS. I don't know if that will change. I wouldn't count on it, as it seems to me that it's by design. A few sellers have posted that they've found some workarounds. I have not tried those, b/c I have no desire to work around it. I did sell 2 items to Canada recently to the same buyer & you are correct, I was not able to combine. I'm sorry it is frustrating to our neighbors. I've spent a lot of time in Canada, I love Canada & I love Canadians. I don't make the rules, I just report them 😄 Funny, now I'm singing Ooooh-roo-koo-koo, ooooh-roo-koo-koo. Take off. It's a beauty way to go 😄

Got it - not familiar with Eis but will read up on the link you provided.

Not being able to easily combine sounds extremely counter intuitive. Unless it's only goal is as a profit stream. The more economical it is to ship orders the more likely a buyer buying more at the same time. One would think. That would be how my mind would work if I saw similar items of interest. Sellers should not need to create new smorgasbord type listings to make a appease a buyer. That would definitely explain the in the recent, middle of the night removal of mixed lots in many of the eBay categories.

@lotzofuniquegoodies I don't disagree with you. I'm just telling you how it works.
It's actually not a big deal for me, as I almost never get International tx's who buy multiples. But I understand that depending on what you sell, it could be a big deal.

Hello - I'm still having the same issue. Were they able to resolve it?
02-22-2023 09:34 AM
no....nothing of consequence yet......
still working to resolve it
02-27-2023 07:08 PM
Same problem. The new International Shipping Program has package size and weight limits which made 8 of my 13 listings no longer visible outside of the US. Agent was useless.
02-27-2023 08:12 PM
My experience is you'll have to end and re-list the current listings so they'll now be under the EIS.
This was how it worked for me in the beginning but it may have changed. Give it a try with a few items.

We are having the same problem. We switched to eBay International Shipping because they advertised it as it adding so many more countries and it has been an absolute disaster. Anyone selling sporting goods, fishing tackle DO NOT SIGN UP FOR EBAY INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, it will not allow you to ship to Canada, Europe and all the places you could under the Global Shipping Program and you are absolutely correct, once you sign up for eBay International Shipping, if you opt out, you can't go back to the Global Shipping Program and eBay never tells you that. We have called eBay three times over this for a month now, each tome we call we get a different answer, we keep telling them the only category restricted to Canada and Europe in Sporting Goods is Sporting Goods-Other-CO2 Cartridges, Firearm Parts, Laser Scopes and they are restricting ALL Sporting Goods categories. If you are thinking about switching DON'T, stay with the Global Shipping Program which works much better. The only reason we switched was because eBay promised a much better program which is no true, not even close. Now we can't send any of our items to all the countries we could under the Global Shipping Program. Thanks for ruining our international sales eBay and for no doing anything to fix the issues. Ebay customer service has been horrible, no one is willing to actually fix the problem and we even gave them item samples of what we sent to Canada and Europe and how they can't go there now. The lack of service and resolving issues has really become quite poor.
