bulk edit UPC into variations?

I sell decals which are my own creation and have no UPC.

I can add " does not apply " just fine but i have many items with a lot of variations for 1 item and would take me forever to edit one by one.

I have to enter " does not apply " for every color / size variation which can be 50 or more on 1 listing.

Is there a faster way (bulk?)

See pic for example:

I am in the same situation as you. All of my fixed price listings are multi-variations. I don't think you can bulk edit them, has to be done one by one.

But I believe we are grandfathered in with our current active listings, right? It's just the ones here on out that we have to put "Does not apply" to. Currently even when I revise those listings to add stock, the system allows me to submit those revisions without stopping me to input those values... YET.

BTW a little off topic. What is that a screenshot of? It's not ebay bulk editor or anything ebay related right? Looks like a program from like Windows 2000

bulk edit UPC into variations?

I wrote a tool to do it for it our listings (3 accounts, thousands of variation listings). If interested send me a message. Basically it takes in a tab delimited list of sku / upc matches and anything it can't match in that list it sets to "Does not apply"

I should note that it will only work for fixed priced listings. I didn't add in support for auction listings but I suppose I can if needed.

bulk edit UPC into variations?

Good morning,

I also have the same problem so whay I did was to:

Go into my Ebay store

Click each category and select the items I want to edit. In my case it was t-shirts and stickers/decals.

Click edit selected and add your required definitions.

Click Save.

I then go into my Turbo Lister and IMPORT the items I need. Just be sure to cliock on the bottom of the screen to see all of the details. In my case, after i create my images I'm going to use in my listings, I have a separate folder on my computer. This is where I store both the thumbnail images and the full size images (with watermarks on them). From here I can uplaod the thumbnails to my server where I can then place them in the listing as I create it.

The advantage to this is, when I open Turbo lIster in the Detail ssection, I also open the folder on my computer that shows all of the thumbnails. I have the folder on view so I can see all of the images (on my left side) and the Turbo Lister is open on my right.

I can the look at each thumbnail image that is in the folder on my computer and go down each one while looking for it in the Turbo lIster. When I'm done, I just import the selected listings to my Turbo Lister.

When you import the listings into Turbo there is todays date on it. If you selected your items by category and type (example, only stickers from the railroad listing) you can copy the entie listing and past it into the proper folder in your Turbo. When done, you will see two (2) listing for the same sticker. One listing will have the date on it when you created it in Turbo. The second identical listing will have todays date on it. The listing with todays date is the listing you want to keep as it has all of the new information on it. You can just go down the Turbo list and delete the OLD listings and you now have an updated file.

Please note, you may have to go thru each new updated listing to be sure the 'Does Not apply' is showing.

Hope this helps.

Good Grief.... wish I had made this a text document on my computer, I have typed this out so many times my fingers are tired.

Here we go....

You CAN NOT use "does not apply"  with Turbo.

The UPC field is 13 spaces... and "does not apply" is 14 spaces.

The TL "team" knows this is a problem... so far no fix.

When they rolled this out, I went into live listings and put in "does not apply"

Then when I sync.... all the work lost.....  The 13 space glitch.....

So they come up with a work around.... they put in a drop down on the UPC field....

1.  "Does not apply"    won't work.... the 13 space thing.

2.  "Does not appl"   fits but makes it look like you can't spell.

3.  "NA"   now this one works

I did a bulk edit in TL to put in "NA" and it worked... and the same with handeling time

Bulk edit in TL looks odd....   and I think it has to do with the fields.

But you need to go into a listing to change other things... if it is a specific

You can change universal fields.... like handeling time.

This is for TL users...... I don't do live online listings..... TL rules

Does Not Apply works for me in turbo lister?

see pic

Nope just tried it....  the UPC field is still 13 spaces....

I have up to date TL revisions.

Now I see they have changed the order of the drop down

it is now.....

1.  Does not appl

2.  Does not apply

3.  NA

How hard is it to go into the code.... and just change the field to 14 spaces.

My Little Dog (tm) writes better code than this....

bulk edit UPC into variations?

For variation listings in TL, you can add the EAN/UPC as "Does not apply" with minimum effort. Here're the steps:

** Please take backup of your listings before you start**

1. Select the listings which you wish to modify.

2. Select File>Export Selected Listings.

3. Choose Turbo lister format.

4. Open the CSV file generated by Step 3, in excel.

5. Use the find & replace command to replace the following text:

<SYS_SKU>

to

<EAN>Does not apply</EAN><SYS_SKU>

6. .Save the excel sheet.

7. Open Turbo lister, choose File>Import Items>from file.

This worked for me.

Thanks,

Amit

bulk edit UPC into variations?

I'm tagging along on this post since I have a similar problem.  The issue I have is not being able to find the UPC box to fill in on my variations.  I am incluidng a screen shot to show that I don't have it available and I'm wondering if there is somehwere I need to "activate" this at.  I've went back to the first screen and clicked the "get suggestions" button, but nothing.

How do you get the UPC column to show up?

I also did the suggestion to download the files into excel and make the changes, but that didn't work either.

On an unrelated note, I always keep my program updated, and even do the "install complete version update.  I've seen in some other posts people talk about updating to 9.919.101.1 (I believe that's the version number).  My version # is 9.912.101.1, and it never seems to update to anything newer.

Any help would be appreciated.
