Can you have a buy it now and auction of the same item at the same time?

If I have an item that no one is buying and I want to make another listing of the same item as an auction, but someone who is losing the auction buys the buy it now listing can I cancel the auction? What is the best thing to do in that situation?

Good Til Cancelled listings are not re-listing.

My listings are Good Til Cancelled and are not reenlisting. These listings have re-listed over and over again, never a problem and this just started happening in November, 2017. This obviously creates an issue. Is anyone else experiencing this?
