Buyer (feedback): "The crickets that arrived yesterday are dead"
Me: "I don't sell crickets, and my order with this buyer arrived over a month ago"
Ebay: "This feedback is ineligible for removal"
I am beside myself. It's one thing after another.
Yesterday, ebay said they won't remove feedback left by a competitor. A few days ago, ebay declined to remove negative feedback left by a buyer who said "I will remove the feedback when you give me a refund", and then returned an empty box.
I am actually wondering if I did something to make ebay hate me.

Oh, sure. And we're supposed to listen to someone who sells dead crickets.
🤣

If you can get the buyer to understand that he has left his Negative for the wrong seller (you), you can then ask him if he will agree to a feedback revision request. If he does, then send that to him. He can remove the Neg even if CS refuses to do so for you.

File a report on the buyer with eBay for abuse of returns: as well as a police report of theft in such cases: if used USPS report it to them also as fraud and theft through the mail system.
The dead cricket thing.... Ok that one is weird...
Some would say it all karma even if you do not know what you did in your past lives....Strange idea to me fer such. It all sounds like normal eBay going on as usual.

I've had similar happen to me.
Generally speaking, if the customer is too stupid to realize that he left the wrong person negative feedback, you're not going to get him to remove it.
No harm in trying though.

Sounds like you got overseas help and not a USA based CSR.
You need to keep calling until you find one.

Yeah I sent a fb revision request and also a message to the "buyer" yesterday. No reply as of now.
Based on the evidence available to me, I don't have any expectations here that the buyer will become aware of anything or do anything about it.

My (heavy) sarcasm was directed at ebay.
I'm not responsible here, in this or any other life.

Ebay does not pick favorites, they hate all sellers equally!

You can leave a Response to any feedback, your own or a buyer's.
It's usually not a good idea.
The only ones who will ever read it are your future customers, so keep it polite and professional.
"I don't sell crickets." for the dimwit.
" Your demand speaks for itself" for the scammer.

Don't take it personal, ebay hates all of it's sellers.😁

As an aside...
I had 100% positive feedback before this mess.
I worked very, very, very hard for that. Extremely hard.
My sales are 50% of what they were yesterday. This is my livelihood. I am reconsidering what I'm doing here.
Whether or not ebay cares, I don't know, but I know they should.

UPDATE:
I Called ebay
Did the "get a call back" option
A rep called within 1 minute
I explained the scammer who returned nothing situation and they removed the feedback
I explained the "cricket" feedback and they removed that too
I didn't want to mention the competitor who left neg feedback for some reason. Maybe I felt like hitting the rep with 3 issues was too much.
You know that feeling where you experience extreme stress for hours or days and then when it ends, you feel dazed and just want to crawl in a hole? That's me.

Nothing is easy. Sorry this happened to you.

I understand. Trying times for sure...and there are no unemployment checks for ebayers who can't make rent or buy food, even during a pandemic.
