Why am I unable to allow offers on this item?

I'm selling an old car horn from 1925 and I am unable to allow offers in my listing. It isn't even shown as an option. I'm doing it as an auction. I am NOT using 'buy it now".  I thought maybe the listing was just glitched so I tried to make a new listing by using "sell similar" and it still isn't giving me the "allow offers" option. Anyone know why?

There's a difference between an error preventing you from adding offers and the option being hidden. It sounds like you're describing the option is hidden in which case you have the ability to add it to the listing view. Depending whether you're on the website or the app ...

See if this helps. Expand the 'see pricing options' menu @lipres_7792 then make sure the slider next to Best Offer is turned on (blue).

Thanks, but that's the problem. I expand the menu and the option just isn't there.

What happens @lipres_7792 if you use an auction listing with best offer like 295889774960 and hit 'sell similar'? Can you access the features you need and just swap out the item info, category, etc?

Without seeing what you're seeing it's difficult to help except to suggest a workaround for the time being.

Why would you list a 100 year old auto part as an auction? That is an incredibly long tail item and the chances of their being multiple bidders is close to zero.

Not every listing is eligible to send offers to buyers. See link below to the policy:

Not every listing is eligible to send offers to buyers.

I don't think the OP is wanting to SEND AN OFFER.  It is my understanding that they want to list an AUCTION with a Best Offer component.

I must be missing something - why you would add a best offer to an auction.

Buy it Now makes sense. Seems illogical to allow best offers on an auction, and maybe that is why it does not work.
