Did you mean:

Well THIS is a first

NOT ONCE did I get a plaintive email asking “Will I get this by Christmas” or “Can you send it overnight:” or any of the other variations thereto.

I don’t know whether I should be pleased that my customers were smart enough to order well in advance

OR

Disappointed that nobody wants my stuff that badly that quickly.

Hmmmm - decisions, decisions.

In the mean time

MERRY CHRISTMAS

(Hey I’m old too - it’s OK for me to joke about this stuff).

This year was different. Fewer shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas led many people to plan ahead.

I even got some orders in the past week from people who had some money left in their pockets after buying gifts.

I too did not get any of those questions either this year and I usually do.  I did however have one buyer that tracking showed delivered but she said she didn't get it.  I tried to work with her and gave her suggestions on what to do.  She actually was really nice.  Then a couple days later I had a neutral feedback from her.  I of course got that removed.

Then a couple days later she sent me a message and asked me if I had any more of the item she had originally purchased and that she wanted to buy another.  I didn't respond to her, but I made sure I had her on my BBL.

We had only a single buyer ask about shipping to arrive by Christmas Eve, this year, and that was yesterday!  I told her it was not going to arrive in time and she ordered anyways, so maybe she was going to give them a late present or some type of stand-in like a printout of the order.  She still paid for Priority Mail Express even though it was not guaranteed by Christmas, which is really weird, but I wasn't going to argue with her (we don't even usually offer that, I added it to check if it would work and then she ordered before I could remove it, though it was one of several options she would have been able to choose from).  I guess we'll see what comes of that!

Glad it's been quieter on the customer questions front for the other people commenting!

Sold something yesterday.

Message to seller:

"Can I Venmo extra money to ship it express?"

Don't worry. I think I got your share of them this year.

Merry Christmas @richard1rst  and be careful what you ask for. 😃

The ghost of "Send my stuff next day" may still be upon us.

Happy New Years as well.

I did not receive any of these questions this year, which is unusual.

I did have a buyer purchase several ornaments late on the 16th. After the order came in, a message came in asking if I could get the order to her by the 20th for a Christmas party at work. The buyer stated if the order arrived too late for her party at work, it was her fault for not ordering earlier. She said she still wanted the ornaments even if they did not make it by the 20th. I told her I did not think the ornaments would arrive by the 20th, Arizona to Virginia with an eBay ETA of today. I shipped first thing on the 17th (USPS GA). The order arrived at 10:00 am on the 20th 😊

The buyer left a very nice feedback.

And don't forget the scariest one of all. The last spirit, the ghost of "returns yet-to-come"

I'm expecting a lot of "Didn't arrive on time" reasons

Never received that message from buyers either this year. I did notice the USPS being empty with no line at all this year. Usually I would see lines out the door. I think people are either spending less this year or buying elsewhere.

Bwahaha! I purchased something for myself during the time when people would be trying to have stuff delivered by Christmas, so I sent a note to the seller that I DO NOT need it for Christmas, so no rush. So... they canceled my order! That was frustrating, but I found another one for a couple dollars less, so I'm good. 🙂
