I am looking for pros and cons of starting a website store to integrate with eBay since watching eBay open a few days ago. I am considering Shopify or Wix. I would appreciate comments from other sellers. The price between the two for our level store is comparable, $23 per month vs $29 per month, so to clarify, I guess I would like comments on the best integration, as I prefer to only post on eBay's platform.
Thank You.

If your website and eBay have the same traffic X, your traffic is 2X.
Wouldn't dropping eBay cut you traffic half?
In theory, but that was my plan in the beginning - exit eBay - I have the name now and am looking to say goodbye to eBay before it gets as scary over in Aus as it has become over here regarding seller protection, or lack there of.
So much more freedom also to converse with buyers and offer discounts - basically it is my livlihood and I want to be in charge of it.
I also should have mentioned I am slowly removing my HV items from eBay so that has affected my eBay bottom line anyway which I expected to happen.
My HV items range from $400.00 to $1200.00 and I am just not comfortable with the risk of loss with eBay anymore.
I have been imported from Australia and this is my posting ID

@precioustreasures18 I think I may have watched the same session, and I see we have about the same number of listings and the same type of stuff generally. I'm not planning on a Shopify or Wix store. I think a stand alone store like that would be great IF I primarily sold multi-quantity items, or I sold in a very clear niche, or I had a LOT more listings than I currently have. Or....if my goal was primarily to either cross post all my ebay listings on other sites or add additional shops on the web for other items.
But...for the type of ebay business I have, I am going to concentrate on first learning to use social media effectively to drive traffic to my existing store. I have accounts on Pinterest, Facebook (Business) and Instagram (Business). I've had them for a while, but have never really used them effectively. Now with the Summer Slow Down and ebay teasing the new version of the store referral credit , I am going to make more of an effort to use these social media tools.
I don't know if you are already doing social media or not, but my advice---for what it is worth---if you aren't already doing social media, start with one of the platforms and focus on that first.

@precioustreasures18 Also, I'd suggest watching the replay video about Social Media with Kathy Terrill:

It's only about 18 minutes long...but provides some good insights from an actual ebay seller.

@nmagha91, @dylanma0, and @j302_84
Did someone ask you to post this reply here, and tell you that you would be employed by eBay and eBay would pay you to post replies on this community? Have you also been asked to post product reviews? This is a scam, and they are setting you up to cheat you and steal from you. Very soon, you are going to be asked to pay the scammers, in order to be able to withdraw your "pay".
This is called a task-scam or an order-grabbing scam. Sometimes the fake company is "eBay Mall" sometimes it's something else. Either way, it's fake.
eBay doesn't pay people to make forum posts or product reviews, or "grab orders". Nor do any other companies. No legitimate company pays for fake product reviews, and they don't need (or pay) middlemen to do anything with their customer's orders.
If the scammers ask you to sign up for a cryptocurrency account, DON'T DO IT. Don't give them any (more) money. You won't get anything back.
