Variation Listings for Sports Cards

Hello, any help would be appreciate or insight on listing variations for sports cards after this new update.  Keep getting errors.

This is frustrating because now eBay is all of a sudden requiring all card listings to mark the attribute graded or not and it has to be done by the end of June. I cannot update anything but the single cards because I have mostly listings where the customer picks which card they want in the set. The listing has the set as the title name and the Card Attribute is the card in the set they want. I have always used Card Attribute because it made the most sense. Because of the change I now have to update hundreds of listings and re-put in somewhere around 10,000 cards back in the store and find the images again. This is such a waste of time. They need to revert this change or give us a lot more time to do this. I have way better things to do then to play around with this stuff for cards that are mostly dollar cards and I only make maybe a dime off of in the end. eBay needs to fix this NOW or the massive selection of cards across will disappear on the site very quickly.

I sell sugar cane sticks in 2 sizes, small and large.

It wouldn't let me use the attribute "size" so i went with "type" instead ...  small pack and large pack. 

So frustrating.

As you can see there are many sellers and many many more I am sure that now have a big issue on our hands.  We have sports card variation listing that use EBAY's suggested CARD ATTRIBUTES and now it is no longer accepted.  I have approx 170 listings with this issue with a couple of thousand variations with pictures.  It will take no idea how many days if not weeks to redo all of these listings.  In the mean time, if I am doing all of that work, I cant put up any new listings.  We need CARD ATTRIBUTES to be accepted or a way for us to change that title without wiping out all of our variations....a right click and rename feature would work.  Please respond if this is being worked on so I do not have to waste my time relisting each of my listings.  Thank you.

They will be scratching their heads when card sales drop this summer. Granted everyone is going crazy over expensive cards, but many collectors need lower value cards to complete sets and fill collections. They bring in the Ebay Envelope and remove the need for it.

One listing down, I do not have that many. I saved all the previous attributes in a word doc. Made new attribute to copy and paste over.  Only 11 cards in that listing as I wanted to see how long it would take. About 10 minutes to have it relisted in Ebay's new requirement.  What a waste.

ebay is destroying the sweat labour that tons of sellers have put into their businesses. Take a bigger cut, and now destroy the hard work that card sellers have put into their stores? Ebay will be losing their market share. This is a slap in the face of sellers. Really disappointing.

I've been working on a listing off and on all day, 200+ variations (220 card set).

Ebay let me make 200+ variations.

Ebay let me upload 200+ photos for the 200+ variations.

Ebay let me price 200+  variations.

Ebay then froze.

POOF!

everything gone.

I am assuming during all this work, as I was in the final stages of the listing, ebay deemed my variation attribute as invalid.

Maybe yes and maybe no but eBay does auto save your work as you enter data.  The information is auto saved as a Draft.  If you go to start a new listing you should be shown your latest Draft.   Hopefully it is still there for you with most of your work saved.

I am incredibly disappointed in eBay.  This requirement to change card listings to CARD NUMBER instead of CARD ATTRIBUTE by July 12th is having a major impact on thousands of users.  I understand eBay's desire to standardize to CARD NUMBER, but since was allowed for so many years and therefore thousands of sellers listed this way, the least they could have done is provide a migration strategy to CARD NUMBERS.  Requiring sellers to change their listings, some with hundreds of variations, by wiping out their current listings and re- inputting all the information again is unfair to eBay sellers who have been selling sports cards this way for years and years.  They could at least have provided a solution or tool to allow sellers to make this change without investing 100s of hours of work redoing their listings. As per my opening remark - I am incredibly disappointed in eBay.

Hello again, so it is my understanding that now "card number" is not allowed or at the very not being allowed for an attribute for variations? Please tell me this is a glitch and not true.  Myself and I know many others have updated their listings to comply with the new required fields and changed attributes to "card number" because it works as of this weekend.

I have the same issue.  I went thru the very time and manual intensive change to my listings in May and now the attributes we were required to switch to (Card Number) is no longer acceptable.  **bleep**!

The Variation Scanner will make quick work of automatically renaming your variation groups.

Incredible tool, has worked on many of my listings.  Getting an error message after a while so assuming I've reached my max limit for the day,, but not sure.  How do I request an increase?  So far has saved me many hours of listing and scanning work.  Thank you very much.  One note though - this should NOT even be required had ebay not made this ill-advised move to remove "Card Number" as a valid attribute...

I'm happy the tool is making relatively quick work of the job, and I agree that eBay bungled this one.

What error message are you receiving?

Is the upload failing entirely, or is the file uploading but with some issues?

If the latter, there is a response file associated with each upload that should explain any errors (it is over to the right on the upload history).
