Very disappointed in ebay's system and more so their refusal to stand behind their sellers. We had vacation mode and checked the box blocking the processing of orders, but one got through. Had to cancel the transaction and explained this to the buyer and offered to relist and sell on our return. Buyer left neutral feedback instead of understanding that the purchase could not be processed. The other option would be to take a shipping ding and probably still bad feedback if we shipped when we got back.
After calling ebay I was initially told no problem, they would remove it, and that they have had many problems like this and are in the process off changing that setting to hopefully work better. However then I was told by the next ebay people involved they were not going to remove it and tough luck to me, practically scolded by the rep it seemed, somehow it was all my fault for not taking all the listings off (why so you can make more money when we relist) or changing the shipping time (can you even say 2 weeks not sure).
So much for standing behind your sellers, and for not doing what I was told would be done. So anyone who thinks vacation mode is safe and works just wanted to let you know it fails frequently and no one at ebay has you back when it does.
