The Amazon Drop ship items have overtaken ebay. They are easy to spot when you search for an item and find 10 or more ads that look identical except for the price and if you cross check the title back to Amazon you will find they are listing these items for pennies over cost. Herein lies my question and hopefully someone can explain it to me. I sold a kitchenaid coffee spice grinder for $44.95 I bought it for 39.95 with free prime 3 day shipping, but when I ordered the item Amazon charged the sales tax to the destnation address and of course Paypal got their fee. I think I cleared $1.04 but then I realized I forgot the roughly 10% that Ebay charges and so in reality I lost about $4.00 or so. What have I done wrong? Surely ebayers are not losing money hand over fist using Amazon. Please help me to understand what I'm missing?

They don't. The OP will get their Prime account suspended if anyone reports them.
Problem is thanks to Amazon using Prime tape for advertising, most do not know if it was Prime or not.
When I received my package with the Prime tape I did not know it was the gift packing slip that distinguised it as Prime.
At one time, on ebay, you had to have the item in your possession to sell it here. Wish ebay went back to that.

Third-party sellers subscribe to prime now and have for over a year, and they also use MCF - multi-channel fulfillment - some stock sent to amzn fulfillment and some seller-fulfilled. Buyers don't have a clue now whether amzn 3P sellers are legitimately using prime so posts to the contary are incorrect.
I'll continue posting this for the next 15 years til word gets out. 😃

Probably not for 1 time but amazon will sure watch them & if they do it again, it’ll be off with their heads. 😂😂
Nope. Again multi channel fulfillment and prime for sellers. Amazon never really enforced the policy and instead have welcomed sellers into using prime to dropship.

Well - Amazon was very happy when I brought their attention to a regular prime member listing on Ebay and dropship from them. So happy - they gave me a $15 credit to use that I just redeemed. It's one thing if there is a business prime acct and quite another if it's an individual's private acct.
And ep - Amazon CS told me that the gift receipt - which I sent them is indeed an indication that this was a private individual abusing their prime acct. Gift receipts from those with Business Prime and using Amazon fulfillment are different. At least that's what they told me!

The only thing that angers me more when buying on ebay than an item not as described is a purchase drop shipped from the river. If I wanted to shop the river I would go there.

But, just because it comes from there, doesn't mean that Amazon sold it ... it just means that Amazon warehoused it and shipped it. There are a lot of e-commerce sellers that are taking advantage of Amazon's system, but they sell on platforms other than Amazon.

As has been discussed ad nauseam, Ebay has absolutely no problem with its sellers dropshipping. If a buyer is bothered by it, Ebay probably isn't the right venue for them.

Maybe it is an Ebay based money laundering scheme selling items bought with dirty money on Amazon to get clean money when it is sold on Ebay? How do I know? Maybe they?? I Know I hate it and Ebay is losing my business as they did not get permissions to release my info to someone on Amazon: Also sales tax is not just based on the state but the cioty and the county as in New York State and New York City has two different sales tax rates.
Frankly Ebay looks like it will be eathen by Amazon as they struggle to stay ahead of the game when they can't they cheat by moving the goal posts where I never consented to do business with Amazon.
