Hi friends. I made a sale 4/21, shipped out same day. Tracking shows “out for delivery” 4/26 then nothing since then. Buyer just messaged me saying USPS lost package, and asking for my name, address, phone, and email so she can start a claim. Is that what I should do? Or should I start the claim myself. That’s what I’ve done in the past. Advice?

I wouldn't do it.......I'd call the local PO to see if they can tell if it was delivered since it was "out for delivery"........they should have GSP location on the package.
Problem is she can (should) file a NR case with ebay and get the money back from you and then you file the lost claim with the PO.
I'm not usually suspicious.........but sounds like she may be trying to double dip......

Do not respond to buyer.
I wouldn't do anything.
'out for delivery'...might not have been accepted
Usually USPS tries a few times for delivery and then it sits a bit at the post office.
Buyer I would guess already has your information from the sale...sounds like a strange request from a buyer.
Unless buyer opens a claim...sit tight.

I have to agree with the others.
Wait to see what the status of the package is. Ask the buyer to wait while you look into the issue, or they can open a return for the item if they won't wait.
Do not give them any info.
Its your responsibility to check the tracking and arrival, not theirs if there is an issue with shipment.
Its you that would need to be reimbursed if a package is lost.
If you see no movement or its "stuck" for a week, you can file a TRACE with USPS first. That usually will either resolve it, or USPS will report back to file for a lost package. Then you can submit your claim for it being lost and get reimbursed for shipping and package value depending on your coverage and costs.
I have been through this myself before. I filed a trace, was told it was lost, I refunded buyer, got reimbursed by USPS and the package eventually got delivered anyway. USPS took the loss on that order.
