How to I list a item if I do not have a UPC

You can just leave it blank.

Most of the time leaving it blank works just fine but every once in a while it won't let me do that. I can usually work around the problem but not on this item.  It is new open box in office furniture. Any ideas would be helpful.  Thanks

 Try putting the phrase "does not apply" in the UPC Box (No Caps. or Quotes)

I've used NA in the box. It also works.

does listing as new..other make any difference?

You can put N/A for not applicable . I’ve done that without issues. 
Or Does not apply.

Does Not Apply is the preferred by eBay method for items that do not have a UPC, ISBN etc.
