Top Rated + Question

Hello everyone. I googled this but with no clear answer. I recognize that as Top Rated +, you receive a 10% reduction on FVF, does this mean instead of paying the standard 12%, that you now only pay 2%? Sorry if it is a dumb question, but I wanted to be crystal clear on that. Thanks!

You don't have to accept returns for anything you post on eBay but that does not mean no refunds. What you posted pertains to special situations related to the authenticity services and is not general policy. Als as we all know eBay's policy means nothing in the face of a NAD chargeback.

That post is from the policy page about TRS and TR-Plus criteria and has nothing to do with authentication.

Re: Top Rated + Question

It's just a 10% discount from the final value fee.

For example, the final value fee totaled $5.00......for top rated +, the final value fee would be $4.50......a 10% reduction from the original $5.00 final value fee. 😎

Thank you for the clarity since you did not provide a link or source I was not sure where. you pulled the information from.

The discount is 10% of the fee amount, not 79% of the fee amount.

Yep and it's not just trading cards either! Just to back @nobody*s_perfect up on this - I've worked for companies that sell in the Motors Parts & Accessories categories and always got the 10% discount on FVF because we met all other criteria, we just didn't do free returns so we didn't get the seal on the listing.

For Motors we had to provide 30 day buyer paid returns, for trading cards and several other categories, you don't have to accept returns at all to qualify.

Unless you offer same or one-day handling and a 30-day-or-longer free return period with money back option, none of your listings will qualify, and you will not be receiving a 10% discount on your final value fees.

Here's the detailed policy page about TRS and TR-Plus, including the details about "In some product categories, we'll extend the discount benefit (but not the seal) even if you don't offer 30-day free returns" which indeed includes trading cards. So without free returns, the trading card listings would still be eligible for the 10% FVF credit (but not the TR-Plus badge).

Thanks for the correction. I failed to pay any attention whatsoever to what the OP was selling--just that there were no free returns. My bad. 🤦‍

Re: Top Rated + Question

Example:

Watch Sold for $18.85

$18.85 x 12% = $2.26 Fees
$2.26 Fees x 10% Discount for TRS = $0.23

My BIG discount for TRS $0.23...

Re: Top Rated + Question

don't forget to get any fee reductions the seller has to offer 30 day returns and 1 day shipping, which is often hard to do. You can be a TRS and not get any fee reductions.
