Time away question

I've been on time away since 8-26-23 for knee replacement, and thought 30 days would be enough- but had an incident which set me back so that I won't be able to get to the post office like I thought I would starting next Tuesday September  the 26th.

I seem to remember a post a while back saying that you could let your store open back up for a few minutes , then you could start another time away to get around the 30 day limit.

Does anyone have any advice about this?  Thanks!

@mikhirs

You can open, and close ..........................  31 minutes being the shortest amount of time.

Example ....... open/close at 9:59, and it will take effect at   10:30 (the earliest that you can choose)

Example....  open/close at 10:01, and it will take effect at 11:00 (the earliest that you can choose)

Re: Time away question

Yes, that's exactly the way to do it.

Hope the setbacks are resolved sooner rather than later.

I don't find anything that says your idea won't work. Good luck! >> Time Away | eBay

Re: Time away question

Should work fine.  Just on the off chance someone manages to order from you during that time, do you have someone that could pack and ship one or two items for you?

Re: Time away question

You should try that, then just take a knee.

Yes and no @mikhirs . You can no longer end time away and reset it immediately. There's something like a 30 min (1 hr?) gap between the time you set time away and the time it activates.

I'd suggest doing the switchover at a time that's going to generate the least probability of sales sneaking in - like very early in the morning or very late at night.

Do you have someone that could pack a stray order or two in case it comes through? Carrier could pick them up if needed.

If you sell all one-offs you can switch to the Out of Stock setting and change all your quantities to zero. Then you won't have to worry about resetting time away. Just up the quantities back to 1 when you're on your feet again. (Gets complicated if you sell multi quantity - too much room for error.)

Sorry to hear about your setback. Hope you're on the mend and feeling better soon!

Re: Time away question

You can end your time away early and then schedule it again up to 30 days, 15 if you are allowing sales. Maybe this link is helpful to you. https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/selling-tools/time-away?id=5137&st=3&pos=1&query=Time%20Away&inten....

Also, if you have had any sales during your time away, don't forget that you can get a postal pick up by scheduling it online with the USPS. Maybe someone can help you with the orders?

I hope that your setback isn't too major and that you are back on your feet in no time!
