EBay promotes selling on their platform, yet when a seller sells their items EBay steals the money! EBay sends a bogus money transfer letter with all pertinent information blacked out so the banks can NOT find the transfer! What are you hiding EBay?!! If you sent the money why not provide the required information?! Or reverse the transfer…NO why because you are THEFTS!!

They did not as my bank can not find it
how long ago was it sent? as I understand it, the transfer is not instantaneous.....can take a couple of days to show up in an account.

"eBay is not a place to raise quick cash for pressing needs."
It is worth repeating this!

No I would not…but how would anyone know unless it was told to others?! Why are they so reluctant to trace the funds? It’s their bank? Or at the very least give me the documentation required so that I can have my bank investigate where it could be?

Was the payment going to a Canadian bank?
Not to say a letter being sent isn't something that can't happen, but in the years that I have been reading the USA community forums, this is the first I recall seeing something about one. Could I have missed a post about this, sure as heck yes I could have, I don't read all of them.
I did a very quick search on the Canadian board for a letter such as is being talked about, did not see anything.
Could this be something uniquely Canadian, maybe so.
As suggested, maybe contact eBay for Business on the social media pages or post on your home board.
Reading the posts by OP, there is something going on that we are not privy to or is outside of what would be the normal procedure for payment on the US site, so the majority of US sellers/buyers here might not be able to help even if we are willing to try.
We are other buyers and sellers that volunteer our time trying to help. We can only offer suggestions that might be the solution, not make any changes.
Hope you do get it sorted out.

supershop,
In your initial post, you accused e-Bay of stealing your money and referred to them as THEFTS, but I am sure you meant thieves. My suggestion is to consider tempering your verbiage until such time, if it occurs, that you have proof of your claims. I personally, nor have I ever been informed by anyone I know, have any knowledge of e-Bay thievery.

Terribly sorry, I tried changing it several times. I am not sure auto correct understood what I was saying. Anyway Thank You for the advice, I will be sure to remember that the next time I sell an item and do not receive my payout. I just wanted advise other EBay sellers what can happen.
Cheers

Question1. Where is the money I sold my item for?
2. Why will they not cooperate and send me the documentation I need?
3. Why does the story keep changing and the timeline disappears?
All these questions have been answered for you in this thread. You clearly don't agree with the answers, but that doesn't make the answers wrong, just you can't or won't accept them.
Your insistence on "documentation" is going to be a long hard road as Ebay's documentation is all online and available to you in the Seller Hub.
It is likely this is your issue.
Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.
https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-and-payments/payments/payment-holds/

@rugerskick wrote:Amazing logic here. Because Ebay makes 25 billion a year, they would never short a seller a few hundred dollars. Its just not possible for them to do such a thing. And their top officers would never go after and terrorize anyone who was exposing negative things about them either. Oh wait,...they did.
Before assuming that Ebay is all wrong here, you should take note that this is an infrequent seller and is likely having they money held.
As to your statement about what happened FOUR years ago with a handful of Ebay Employees that were promptly fired upon the discovery of their outrageous behavior, that is a bit far fetched and only meant to put Ebay in a bad light.

Ebay doesn't own a bank.
Here in the US, Ebay releases the Payouts into the ACH Banking system and then it is this system that processes the money and gets it to their destination. Ebay has nothing to do with the process once it is released to the ACH.
On our Seller Hub, under the Payment tab we can see the Payout report for each one sent. There is also a number assigned to it that allows us to track it if necessary by contacting our bank and giving them the number.
Again all our documentation is in the Seller Hub. Available to us 24/7 every day.

You made a sale.
The buyer paid.
- What was the date of the payment?
EBay put a Hold on the payment because you are an infrequent seller.
- How long was the Hold in place?
You shipped.
- Did you buy the shipping label with the Held funds?
You have a Managed Payments account which transfers payments (after fees) to a chequing account in a Canadian bank.
EBay transferred the money to your chequing account.
- The money has not appeared in your account.
When eBay transfers money each Tuesday, they send you an electronic Message giving the amount, the bank name, and the last four numbers of the chequing account.
- Did you receive that Message, which also may turn up on the email account you have attached to this eBay ID?
Could you attach a screenshot of this inexplicable "letter" you received?
- Was it a paper letter sent through Canada Post?
- Was it an eBay Message?
- Was it sent to the email address attached to this ID?
Since you deal with both US and Canadian accounts, can you offer any advice?

Hey @reallynicestamps! After reading through this thread, yourself and others have offered great advice for @sssupershopaholic. If they are still not seeing their payout they can reach out to our Managed Payments team and they can look into their account in further detail.

What do you see when you go to Seller Hub>Payments>Summary? The "balance" includes all money owed you, including anything being held. Does it look like your funds are still there? If so, then they are probably on hold, not stolen. If the funds have been sent, then you can go to Seller Hub>Payments>Payouts and look for the actual transaction which will include the bank reference ID number which you can go to your bank with and ask them to research where the payment went if it doesn't appear in your bank account. How does the email you received from eBay compare to what you see here, can you find the transaction(s) they claim to have taken place? If you can't find it, then it sounds like you need to ask eBay why there is a discrepancy.

Thank you for trying to help. I have done all of that. Funds are not there says paid out. I have the reference number that I have taken to my bank. They can not find it. Reached out to EBay again and they sent me a transfer letter with all pertinent information blacked out. Bank can not find anything in their bank with those funds. The information on the letter needs to be sent to me without blacking it out. EBay is now saying there is nothing more they can do. They refuse to track it from their end hence the post. I do not want others to get burnt this way as well.

"Funds are not there says paid out." That is two different things. Are the funds not there? If it says it was Paid Out, then there IS a Payout report with a number in which it can be tracked by.
That letter thing makes no sense to me and no one else on this thread knows what it is either, even those seller that are in your country.
@femmefan1946 Any ideas??

There's a paper trail (in this case a computer trail) for everything.
You can't have a sale and the funds just disappear in to thin air or disappear into ebay's back pocket.
I'm not saying it's impossible, just highly unlikely.
There is no doubt in my mind that the OP is mistaken or confused and doesn't know where to look.
The sad thing is, there is also no doubt in my mind that if/when this is cleared up
the OP will not come back to say "I found the payment. It was all just a mistake."
Good luck to you @sssupershopaholic
