I sold item and received the money. Shipping service - only local pick up. I contacted the buyer and sent him local address for pick up. The buyer's account shows the New York, I'm from California. The buyer doesn't respond to me for two days.
What to do? I don't want to pay sales fees

You may cancel the sale using the reason "problem with buyer address", since there is no way you will be shipping and the buyer address is too far away.

The cancellation process with also handle the refund, so watch for that step.

The buyer should have received a QR code when they made the purchase and they are the ones that are supposed to contact you to arrange pickup. Given the holiday it may be possible that the buyer is otherwise engaged and just has not contacted you yet. If they have already paid for the item you may want to give them a little more time and get through the holiday week. I am not sure if there is a time limit by which the buyer has to contact you.

It could be possible that the individual is having somebody in California pickup the item so you may not want to cancel the transaction to quickly. Doing so may cause an adverse reaction from the buyer. Canceling stating that there was a problem with the buyers address would not be entirely accurate since this is not a shipping situation. What if the buyer is in the process of moving to California this week or they will be in California this week visiting family for the holiday?
You have already been paid and the buyer is on the hook to contact you regarding pickup, given the holiday week give them a few extra days in which to do that.

This happened to me 3 times in a row on the same item last month. Ebay needs to fix their UX on the buyer side. My listing was clear.
As far as what you should do it is a grey area. If you cancel, they can leave negative feedback and you'll have to 'ask' customer service to remove it. And honestly, they may not.
Also;
"If you cancel a transaction, it is considered a transaction defect and could affect your seller performance level."
It's a very bogus approach overall.

Very true I had that happen, but the person emailed me first which was nice. Ebay's response to all these issues is 'work it out with the buyer'. The best situation is if the buyer can respond and request cancellation, which will give you grounds to have any feedback removed.
Still frustrating that ebay UX is obviously so bad that so many buyers don't even see the local pickup thing.

Exactly. People do NOT understand this. Buyer has to initiate the cancellation. They can open a case if you cancel it without their authorization. It's like people in these community posts want you to get screwed.

I don't know where you get your information from but it's all wrong.
Buyers can request a cancellation, sellers are not required to accept it. And once a transaction is cancelled no one can open a case about it. A buyer can report the seller for using the wrong reasons to cancel.
