I received a nice message from a buyer thanking me for the handwritten "Thank You" note that I enclose with all my sales. He said very few sellers do this. So that was nice of him to take the time to tell me that. A "heads-up" to all you sellers that we are dealing with real people out there and you never know who they will tell (there are some statistics on that) and how many of these people will come back to you to buy something.
A fewer note on this subject. I also received a hand written letter from a woman dealing with throat cancer. She purchased a lot of "silk scarves" from me and that the scarves allowed her to cover up her neck so that she could go out more in public. Apparently she had some surgery and it was noticeable. I cried when i received that one, so you never know your impact. Have a Good day!

I don't include thank you notes because my handwriting has become impossible now that I'm "older." (When young, I always found it a little funny to look at the spidery handwriting of seniors. No more!) I do include thank you stickers though and send a message to them when I'm packing their order up to thank them then.
On a different note, I notice that you send magazines priority. Thank you! for not sending them media mail.

I started replying to all positive feedbacks I get from buyers as "Thank you for your purchase."
So, each buyer gets a double feedback on a purchase from me.

I wish you could automate that reply, honestly, with variations so it doesn't look as automatic (like you can with buyer feedback). We get a lot of purchases and a lot of feedback (fortunately, and almost all positive), but I like the idea of responding to buyer feedback, although not the extra time involved even if it's somewhat minimal.

I try to find a key word in their feedback to use. Makes it easier to think of something.
I don't think the handwriting matters. It is more the act of the personal time you spent writing the note.

I write notes on the packing slips I enclose with the item, usually just "thank you" but sometimes something else.

Thank You Notes are Important
Thanks you notes are important to some people but not to all people.
As a seller I have never included them, and I rarely receive them as a buyer. When I do they go in the recycle bin with the packaging material.
I have never been told by a buyer that he disappointed that he didn't get one.

Selling stamps I end up with boxes of stamps that are simply not worth listings. In my spare time
I've started sorting them into small groups of 15-20 stamps and I'm including a group with every order.
There's a small type written note with each group ( I have terrible handwriting)
The note says, "This is just a small gift for you to add to your collection. We appreciate your business. Thank you!"
For a few cents and a half minute of my time the buyers are eating it up.

I get where u r coming from, but not all people like having extra 'stuff' in their package, me included.
I've actually gotten messages from buyers to plz don't include any extras in their box.
For me, taking everything in life into consideration, I prefer simplicity with all the buzzing going on around us.
Practically all my purchases from Posh____ include a handwritten thank u note. I don't even read them. Like someone else posted, they go straight into my recycling bin.
The exception to this is if I am receiving a gift or if I had interaction with my buyer that would make the note appropriate.
😊

meant to include receiving AND giving a gift, then yes, handwritten notes, cards definitely included

I write a thank you on the invoice.

I get it.
Some buyers/sellers like thank you notes and some don't.
It's a personal preference.
Mine includes a recipe on the back of my favorite dessert, so it's not totally worthless. 😉

A little politeness can go a long way.

Absolutely...😊
