Strange Transactions? One Buyer? Two User IDs? No Feedback?

Wednesday I had a brand new buyer, who opened their account that same day, buy a dress in an XL size. Obviously no feedback as account was brand new. In order details it shows her full name including middle (Maria Teresa), as it does on printed shipping label.

Thursday I sell the same exact style of that dress in a different color and different size, large, to a buyer with the same address but the name appears to be a nickname (Terri) of the previous buyer, same last name. This buyer's user ID is different, has been active since 06/2021 and has only 1 feedback listed very early on, in the past 12 months area of feedback.

I've already printed the label for the first dress but haven't shipped it out. Gut feeling says scam...

Does this sound sketchy to anyone? Should I cancel both orders? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

If they're paid, just ship. When you're selling clothing, there's a strong possibility that you'll be getting returns anyway. (I notice also that there are sponsored listings of the same items at slightly lower prices, so it's good that they bought from you and not your competition.)

As for why you have two sales to two separate accounts at the same address, have you checked your seller preferences to see if possibly you have a purchase limit in place preventing multiple purchases within a few days from the same new buying account (i.e. a buyer with a feedback score below 5 or less)? A scam for a $20 dress?

Maybe they're sisters. Have you messaged the buyer about the possible double purchase?

@dq3141 A scam for a $20 dress may surprise some but I've been scammed for $9.99 air fresheners and $17 yoga pants. It would be 2 $20 dresses.

I messaged 2nd buyer with no response yet.

Not a scam but probably a 'dressing room' thing; wants to try it on and see how they fit, color etc.

It is possible for two people with the same last name to live in the same household.   I wouldn't worry about it.  On the other hand, it could be that they are the same person, doing the try it on and see which one fits them best thing.  But if you sell clothing you pretty much have to expect returns for fit.

As far as 0 feedback buyers, personally I don't give that a second thought, nor do I pay any attention to when the account was opened.  Each to their own, for some sellers this an automatic red flag...but if I were a new buyer I would expect the item to be shipped to me after I paid for it.

Two different colours and different sized dresses so yeah, I think maybe buyer A purchased one and buyer B saw it and wanted one as well.
