Strange Offer?

I had recently lowered an item from $115 to $100. I then received an offer later on of $98.99. Is it just me or does it just seem... weird? The person joined in March and has 4 reviews as a buyer (all positive). I could just be paranoid but offering $1.01 less than the buy-it-now price just seems strange to me.  Any thoughts?

Could be they don't understand how BIN now works, or are just being whimsical.

Accept it if it's okay with you.  No point in over-thinking an offer.

Not to me.

First, the buyer may have set an upper limit of $100 during their search meaning that your item will not have shown up on prior searches.

Second, they may have, say, only $110 in their account and are budgeting for taxes in their offer. 

As a buyer I have made similar offers within pennies of what I had left in my paypal account, not wanting to go over and having precisely calculated the out the door price.

Depends on what happens next.

If you accept the offer & they pay, great.

If you accept the offer & they want to text, then you've got a scammer on your hands.

If they BIN'd outright, they would have to pay immediately.

If you accept an offer, they have a chance to try to convince you to text ... and then you'll receive a text telling you have been paid & to ship immediately.

Thank you for the insights! I may just accept and cancel if things get sketchy. Luckily I haven't had any encounters with scammers yet but we'll see what happens!

You could try lowering your price to 98.99 and tell the buyer that. See if they just purchase it thru ebay.

There would be no need for you to just cancel the order. There is a process. Go to the help section and look it up.
