My storage unit was heavily damaged Jan 7th and I could not get inside. The weeks dragged on when I could not get them to tell me when they would get me back in. Zillions of calls and texts to the property manager who ignored them. Left complaints on Yelp and the company Facebook page. Emailed and chatted with corporate many times. Sent a letter to the district manager. NOTHING.
I then filed a complaint with their in-house dispute department and whammo, got a call from the manager saying she will do what I demanded which is break into the unit and move my stuff at no cost. I set that up for next Friday to be there to take photos against damage.
In the meantime I had dealings with another much superior storage facility in town. Ideally I would like to just move to them but that will have to be phase two.
Ironically I just had surgery and will not be able to lift weight for a month which would include the door to the unit! Or the stuff in there. Maybe I could figure out something with my son. I'm not well enough to deal with that right now.

Why is such posted??
Are you asking a question??

Good for you, never mind about this superior storage locker for now you need to recover. Sounds like back surgery? I hope you are feeling better and take your pain medication timely ok?

Nope. Just an update to a previous thread.

thanks! Am doing so. I had disc surgery in the past and that was way worse. I'll need to just take it easy for a month, doing some listing of light materials. By April I hope to be kicking butt and taking no prisoners again.

I'm glad you are finally getting in there. Of courses actions speak louder than words, so far they are just words, I hope you get some action.

Sounds like you've been through some things. 😕 I hope it all gets settled sooner than later.
Heal quickly and take care!

All the absolute best to you in recovery, keziak. Sounds like you are moving along with the storage issue. Best of luck. I just had surgery on Monday as well. It stinks not be able to move around effectively.

Wow went and read this topic on this mess:

Seems for sure they would be a risk to let you in due to possible structural damage.
You get hurt they get sued.
As for what you say in this post:
I advise to take help, and transportation that can handle the contents of the unit.
Next question is were are you going to put it..

Can it all fit into a 26' Uhaul truck? How about the storage people move it all into a Uhaul for you, then your son can take it the place you prefer and unload it there?

best wishes to you, surgery buddy

If I wasn't laid up I might arrange for my own movers (bigger job than my son) to just relocate my inventory. As it is I think I can get there to take some photos and observe the move to another unit in the facility, not a lot more. I won't go inside or anything. When I am better I may decide it's worth the moving expense to hire a couple of guys to move me to another facility that is better.

Some time ago, the OP posted that apparently a truck or something had backed into the door of her storage unit, damaging the door so that it could not be opened. At that time, wasn't getting much help from the owner of the facility. Her husband apparently is an attorney, but, for some unknown reason, was not willing to offer help for the problem, nor did he seem willing to help her find a lawyer who would help.
I, for one, am glad the issue is resolved and hope she will return Friday when she does finally get into the storage space.
Keziak: Couldn't you perhaps find a strong high school young man to move your stuff, paying him at a reasonable level?

May I respectfully suggest that your husband could help with arranging for movers, or at least someone to load a U-Haul truck?
