Did you mean:

Still Bidders

Does anyone know a way to block people with zero feedback and brand-new accounts? I'm getting sick of still bidders ruining my auctions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@gawoh25

Did you mean "Shill bidders?"

All you can do is stop with the auctions and list your items at a fixed, buy it now price, immediate payment required and NO best offers.  Fake and sport bidders will steer clear of this types of listings as they must pay instantly and most of us know they probably won't.  Remember that you are here on eBay to make money,  not to chase it.

Sorry for your frustration.

Re: Still Bidders

There's no way to automatically block zero-feedback bidders or new members.

The closest option is the site preferences option to block members from purchasing more than one item from you in ten days, and you can choose whether to apply this exclusively to low-feedback buyers/bidders.  But you can't block that first purchase/ bid.

Sellers can choose to require bidders to provide a payment method before they bid or make an offer:

Re: Still Bidders

Not sure what you mean by "ruining my auctions" but if is sport bidders that are just running up the price and not paying you can turn on the auto-pay feature for awhile. This requires the bidder to provide a payment method before they place a bid. It is similar to the Immediate Payment Required (IPR) function for BIN. Turning on the feature however does come with some trade offs.

     In your account settings under selling preferences edit the Managing Who Can Buy From You and check the following two boxes.

Re: Still Bidders

The term "shill" bidders generally applies to bidders who deliberately drive up the price in collaboration with the seller so the seller can make more money.  Shill bidders do not bid to win, they just want to drive up the winning bid price.

Bidders who bid up an item, with no intention of paying if they win, are usually referred to as "sport" bidders.

Re: Still Bidders

Everyone starts are zero.  Zero feedback or newly registered buyers aren't your problem, even if the bidders in question also happen to be either or both of those things.  Focus on the real problem and take the advice others gave you: run fixed-price listings with immediate payment required for a while, and consider making a bunch of smaller sales before listing anything you think is more valuable.  Scammers are a little less likely to target experienced sellers with a lot of feedback, because they're less likely to fall for some of the tactics involved.

Yes, thank you.  I couldn't find that in my notes.  Will add for future references.
