Stars vs. feedback

I have 100% positive feedback, but my stars are 4.6 to 4.8.    No one has indicated any problems, but apparently they left me low stars for some reason.   Is there any way to tell the stars left by buyers for particular auctions?   Thanks!

Have you looked at your dashboard?  That might give you some information about whay people are not 100% happy.  And yes, you can run reports on your buyers' feedback and find out who didn't give you 5 stars.  Remember that some buyers will just never give a perfect score, no matter how good a job you do.

Nearly all your stars are dinged. Your shipping amounts look reasonable. What is your handling time? I noticed I won't get those jeans until Saturday. People want things now.

It's economy shipping at 2 business day handling. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

OP, are you asking, so you can fix things? Or because you're afraid they are causing you problems? Feedback and stars no longer matter really. So don't worry to much about it. Concentrate on getting things out in your handling time. That's the main thing these days.

The prolonged shipping time is due at least in part to using economy shipping (Parcel Select Ground) rather than Priority Mail.  I have no idea why a seller would do that unless the package was hazmat (requiring ground shipping),  large (over 1 cubic foot) or heavy (over 18 pounds).

48 hour handling time.    I ship nearly everything Priority Mail.   I do live in a very rural area, so there have been a couple of times the mail wasn't picked up, but that was in the winter.     I feel like my shipping is a lot faster than the things I receive from others, so I don't understand the problem.   Plus no one ever put a complaint on feedback, nor sent me a message.

I am posting because even though I have 100% feedback, I am afraid the stars might make someone decide not to bid on my items.    You don't feel this is an issue these days?

With only 10 or 11 ratings for each of your DSR scores, the numbers are very sensitive to just one or two low ratings from a grumpy or misguided buyer (unfortunately, there ARE some out there who think "3" is "average").  But the opposite is also true: Just a few 5's will get those ratings back up to 4.9 very quickly.

Also, I have apparently gotten a low rating on things other than shipping.  Again, no one has indicated a problem, and it's a little aggravating.    I wouldn't do that to someone without letting them know i had an issue, but I guess some buyers do.

If shipping and handling is all that matters for Seller Performance ..do away with the rest of the stars.

I don't think any stars are used for Seller Performance any more. It's all about cancellations and unresolved buyer problems.

Stars are useful for buyers. They should never have been used by Ebay to grade sellers

With just 10 ratings you have just qualified for them to be shown.  Give it some time and additional ratings will quickly help--unless you actually have a serious problem and then improvement will be slower.

As I'm just starting out selling on eBay, I was kind of curious for all of you guys chiming in on this issue, which is more important in eBay's eyes? Is it the detailed ratings in the stars or the overall feedback score in percentage form? Obviously I'll be striving for 5 stars across the board for both, but is there one or the other that makes sense to concentrate on from the get go?

I think that percentaage matters a lot more.  The seller's feedback percentage is shown along with their ID right at the top of the listing page.  Whereas seeing their DSRs takes some digging into their feedback page.

The most important thing in Ebay's eyes is that you are responsive to any cases opened by your buyers and do not cancel transactions unless they are buyer requested. Right now those are the most critical measurements.
