Spring Seller Check In March 7th Highlights

Event is live now. They did a round of very rapid-fire updates. Here's a recap:

Adam Ireland replacement is Dawn Block

Terapeak Product Research: coming to mobile.

- Launch timeline "so close".

- Sell through rate will come in a later release.

- Additional trend graphs and active listings will be in later updates.

- Anybody that attended the check in will be among the first users to have access once Product Research makes it to mobile.

New tool: Background Enhancement

- Remove background and choose creative and colorful backgrounds.

- No longer the case for pure white backgrounds to bring you higher in eBay search results and no longer required by Google.

- Still recommended to use simple background, but does not have to be white.

- Tool will launch on mobile. No ETA if/when coming to web.

Upcoming test: Sell Mode on mobile

- More robust selling functionality.

- Enhanced navigation instead of everything on one screen.

- Very small user group test in the next quarter.

Fashion update: End of month launching Preloved Partner Program

- US Pilot

- Invitation only

Fashion growth categories:
- Mens suiting growth, esp Ralph Lauren. Peak March/April/October
- Luxury Apparel $200-500 price point
- Coats & Jackets most significant YOY growth, and Carhartt is top 3 search term
- Athleticwear, especially branded hoodies
- Jeans top 10 search item - increase in search for baggy jeans

Ugh, not looking forward to the influx of gaudy backgrounds from sellers.  I think we'll stick to white, thank you very much.  I like our backdrop.

Terapeak on mobile will be amazing for me, especially if it retains the ability (like the mobile search) to scan barcodes with the camera!

I'm actually looking forward to the background tool---depending on the background choices. A white or black background is fine for many things, but as advertisers have long recognized, other things can do better with other backgrounds. However, I agree, not every seller will make wise choices when it comes to the backgrounds they select LOL

Agree....Terapeak on mobile will be a big help for me when sourcing. The ability to scan barcodes will NOT be available upon initial launch, but they do plan to add it. (according to the breakout session)

Hey devon@ebay . On youtube the thumbnail image for the main spring seller check in video is from the winter seller update. Might confuse some people since the thumbnail is more prominent than the video title.
