After searching for an item when the list comes up there are certain listing from sellers that have "sponsored" above their item. Do sellers that areTop Rated Plus get the "Sponsored" link that comes up when searching for an item?

No.  It's an extra promotion they have to choose and it costs them part of their earnings.

I avoid those listings when possible.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

@chrysylys

Just out of curiosity ... why do you avoid Promoted Listings?

You avoid a lot of things ... listings with good pictures being one of them discussed last week... why Promoted Listings?

I didn't say 'good' pictures.  I said pictures that indicated the seller was using only stock pictures which imply dropshipping.

I've also said many times I will avoid sponsored, bold, large pictures in searches, 'USA Seller", LQQK, 'Rare' and anything else that screams "ME, ME, ME, ME!!!!!!!!" like a Carnival Barker.

I prefer all search results to be equal and concentrate on the item itself.

Pictures with a white background is what you were objecting to ... but that is not this thread ...

Large pictures in Search? Huh.

I agree with the non-essential, self aggrandizing words in the title ... but ... The other stuff? I'm just not understanding your vehemence against sellers that try to have professional listings, take professional looking pictures and use the tools eBay provides (worthwhile or not) like Gallery Plus (free in some cats) , Bold Title (waste of money) and Promoted Listings ($30 quarterly credit for TRS).

But ... never mind ... The OP only wanted to know what it was ... not to read our opinions about it 🙂

If you have a store they give you a credit each quarter, use it or lose it.

It's pay to play on ebay so if you don't you will not get the exposure that the seller who use the program do.  So use the program or lose sales. But ebay is not forcing you to use it, if you know what I mean.

The program also adds no value to the consumer unless you believe that sellers who use the program are better for consumers than those who do not use it.
