So long eBay

CEO MUST READ OR CUSTUMER RETENTION OR EVEN SOMEBODY WHO CARES AT eBay. Today was the final straw 18 years on ebay, I tried for years to talk to a USA rep and only got one in over 200 hundred calls over the last 12 years.  Phillipines is great if I was from there.  Also love the names Ed, Kim, Linda, Lynn. If only the American  name matched the accent or dialect of the USA. I guess eBay still does not get it.  Just started removing auctions as we talk. So sad nobody cares about sellers, or should I say they only care about Target or large box retailers. Just opened my new account with competitor  and already started listing. Used to have over a 1000 listings and now down to 300 and should close my doors by the end of spring. Come and get it while you still can. Thanks to my loyal followers for whatever it may be worth. I used to love ebay and now it just a fart in the wind. I hope they don't try to censure my comments, but we know their true colors. I am here and have had the same phone number for 15 years. would love to here from a USA eBay rep. We know that won't happen. Late, that felt Good.

They may speak English, but the Bookface reps are nearly as useless as the outsourced, Third World reps.

If you say so.  I've never contacted them;  in fact, I don't even have a FaceBook account.  But several very experienced, quite reliable, and always helpful sellers on this board have had good experiences using the Facebook contact and recommend it.  That's all I know.

They monitor indeed, I got few warnings to my private inbox in the past, some posts were deleted or sent to die in another irrelevant subject community board.

eBay employees do not monitor the forums. They are monitored/moderated by Khoros.

Respectfully, you are wrong. I can bear witness to what @maxine*j recommends. The outsourced Reps read scripts and follow flow charts. The eBay Reps that you contact through facebook have (and I'll repeat myself) the ability and the resources to actually offer service

If the first Rep can't handle your issue, you'll be contacted by another. If that Rep needs to escalate your issue, you'll be passed on to decision-makers even higher up. (You can even escalate the issue yourself.) You can reply to the emails at your own time, and can expect quick replies back.

Yes, it might take 3 emails with 3 different Reps before you reach a solution, but that sure beats (the OP's) 200 unsuccessful phone attempts at efficiency. And I'm no fan of facebook, but I'm dang sure on-board if it helps me with eBay.

Ebay does indeed monitor these pages.

I've contacted them via Facebook once and they had my problem solved within five minutes. No complaints here.

Honestly...200 calls in 12 years? Really? You've been given options to contact other help on Facebook...which you don't want to do...which is fine by me....we've seen sellers like you come through here before. We give out advice but it's not what you want to hear so you reject it.

Many of my coworkers at my B&M job are Filipino immigrants. They may have accents but they can speak and understand English perfectly well. At a certain point one has to suspect that the "lost in translation" aspect is probably not on their side.

Re: So long eBay

The phone reps, US or Philippine, do not work for eBay. They are sub-contractors with poor training and no authority.

You can "talk" with an eBay employee with Chat, FaceBook or Twitter.

https://twitter.com/askebay
https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

You get a transcript of the discussion so you can review what was said and what you thought was said.

Fine. Quit. Go to Amazon. Mercari. PoshMark. I've heard the grass is greener on the other side. So is the fees and the tech support. I'm sure you'll be much happier.

"...C/S Reps can be reached beginning with a message on the eBay facebook page"

That may very well be true, but the point is that one shouldn't have to create a facebook profile to access customer service. Just imagine if eBay had their own dedicated social media forum.... oh wait....
