In one of my stores I have an item for sale thats just more or less a small widget its something insignificant but new, so I figured I would pass the savings on to someone who will use it. In any event this item is cheap $5 total cheap but more or less a quality product.
Ive had watchers sitting on the item for weeks and weeks. So today I was going through and auditing prices and suddenly I get a message on that specific item that I just revised (removing best offer from the listing AGAIN)
Message asks if I will sell it for $4..........Forreal guys?
So I message the buyer back and I let him know that im sorry but I just cant.
$5 - fees - shipping = $0.34 net
Ebay has officially become a garage sale... Feb not off to a great start.

LOL. I just now asked my husband (yellowdognoel) if he remembers the shoe seller. He answered:
I don't remember her name, but I remember the legs!
All these years later! Too funny what sticks in the mind!

The suit guy was NYCsomething, if I remember correctly.
That was also about the time when a whole bunch of people got all expenses paid vacations ... And mentioning that someone "went to Disney" would get you slapped.
Oh yeah, fun days indeed ...
I just looked at my PM's from during that laugh riot ... I was definitely not immune LOL
(And I'm waiting for the 1st rule of Fight Club to kick in here any minute now)

You're right. There's probably no statute of limitations - even after 18 years or thereabouts!
See you all tomorrow (I hope)

As a mostly buyer now and an expert in my category I feel the same way about some seller prices. I shake my head and move on.
So true, so true. I've seen things sit for years at prices no one in their right mind would pay.

Community Boards don't always bring out the best in all people.
How well do I know that! YKWIM

I met Griff in 2002 when eBay ran a seminar in Vancouver BC. I was really shocked when one of his instructor team gave a presentation suggesting that if you wanted to do well as a seller, you should buy a lot of things first and build up your feedback, and then try selling recipes for the cost of postage. That all that feedback for cheap stuff would make you look trustworth. HUH! We had just the week before had a HUGE thread on the board talking about the dishonesty of selling recipes to build up your feedback so you could move on to pricier stuff and so to see an eBay seminar suggesting this as a great strategy was really a shocker.
I gave up on the weekly chats. They always put me in a bad temper. Jeff and Griff seemed to be always at cross-purposes to one another and despite saying that you could write to him directly with an issue, it seemed to me that Griff almost always took the buyer's side. He was also a big fan of leaving feedback first and offered the opinion that there was nothing wrong with a buyer leaving bad feedback for a seller because they didn't leave feedback for them. UGH and double UGH.
Jeff was kind of blunt. I remember Griff saying there was no problem that wasn't the seller's fault?
