I sold a 20mm watch band, clearly indicating which watch it was for. Received return request "doesn't fit". Should I accept or not? I do not offer returns and the offer to decline is one of the options.
I suspect this may have been a remorse buy as the buyer took a few days to pay after I accepted their BIN offer or they bought another one elsewhere and no longer need mine.

I would accept the return.

@mooncat_watches You can be gracious and accept the return and provide a label. If you don’t the buyer can open a not as described case and you will be forced to accept it, or even eBay might refund and let them keep it.
I don’t think anyone likes returns, but it is part of doing business. Everyone takes returns…some just don’t know it.

The text indicates that the buyer has to pay for the label. The more I think of if, the more it's better just to accept the return.
The watch band is not cheap.

Yeah, if they filed a return request with a reason that allows you to make them pay for the label, that's much better than them filing a request that invokes the Money Back Guarantee and forces you to provide the label. Technically you could refuse it if so, but as you said, you run the risk of them going to their credit card for a chargeback and while sellers do win those in some cases (and are covered by seller protections in others), it's more of a gamble and could cost you the item, the money, and a $20 dispute fee if you fight it.
I have also always felt that if something sold once, even if the buyer changed their mind and returned it (as long as there is truly no flaw in the item that would make it less appealing), it'll sell again. If the buyer is paying return shipping, you're not even out anything except some time.

@mooncat_watches Just don’t split hairs…send the buyer a prepaid label, apologize for any misunderstanding and move on. You can say whatever, but we all have to follow the rules. It isn’t worth a negative feedback for a $5 label. Make a happy customer. They do come back.

Will my promoted fees be returned? Does anyone know.
Thanks for all the responses btw, much appreciated.

@mooncat_watches When you issue the refund at the end there is a breakdown of the refund. My fees have always been refunded.

OK thanks. A bit concerned because I just approved the return and they just put a hold on the amount that it sold for, $251, not the amount that I netted which is far less. I'm guessing once it arrives back here, the actual amount refunded on my end will be the $251 - fvf - promotion fee

Hi, It is always best to simply just accept the return & avoid any future issues. Try not to stress over it. Accept the return - refund & move on. Good Luck!!

Geez, why does the buyer have until June 16 to return the item? That's ridiculous.

Hmmm...a return or maybe a dispute with a buyer's credit card?
Take the return...some buyers are sneaky these days..

Buyer will get a full refund, not just what you received.
Your fee's will be refunded.
