Did you mean:

Separate orders, same buyer.

Sometimes buyers will buy multiple items and not check out correctly with the shopping cart. So they are charged full shipping on each item instead of the "each additional" price.

I usually catch this, refund the shipping difference and pack and ship their items together.

Last night as i was packng orders, i had so many orders to pack, that i missed 3 separate orders for the same person. The orders were already packed separately with shipping labels.

Would you un-do it or leave it?

I left it. But i'm worried the buyer night be mad.

Re: Separate orders, same buyer.

It gets messy. Not all buyers know they can use the cart to buy multiple things at once. I see it a lot, but I do free shipping so the impact is different. Unless they complain I would probably not sweat it.

Re: Separate orders, same buyer.

Your customer may wonder if you've lost your marbles shipping 3 separate.

You'll be paying the post office less by shipping one versus 3.

You can have a glass of wine and think about it.....

Re: Separate orders, same buyer.

Leave it.

I bought 2 things the other day without realizing they were from the same seller.

They shouldn’t have to work double, I should have paid attention, and I can live without $3.50.

Re: Separate orders, same buyer.

combine Redrose and picknparley

Leave it and drink another glass of wine.

If I catch it BEFORE the labels are printed, and on the packages I'll combine and refund the difference to the buyers.

If I don't catch it till after.... well phooey guess one of us should have been paying better attention.

I hate photobucket right now... PS Answers given years ago may or may not be current now, please check with current posters to the boards to see if the information is still relevant.

Admittedly, this happens to me quite a bit. I take it as a case by case. I don't care what the buyer would think... either way, you didn't do anything wrong. Just leave it be.

Re: Separate orders, same buyer.

On ebay, sellers may have different pricing structures so it can NOT be assumed that the seller can put all the items for the same buyer together with reduced shipping and even if you DO combine, then it's up to the buyer to let you know this beforehand.  The shipping and price are right there in front of the buyer and when I buy, I don't expect the seller to combine everything together unless I message them ahead of time AND they approve it.

I would message or call them if they'd like it combo all in one package and how would they like their refund - cash in the pkg or paypal??  Different buyers have different expectations, too.  At least you're asking for their input before just sending them off.

Re: Separate orders, same buyer.

It took me a long time to grasp the concept of "win some, lose some."

A lot of it has to do with accepting the ebay way "as is" and without argument.

Fact is you will rarely see me complain about lost SNAD / INR cases...

Because I don't really "lose" those cases, I simply close them out as ebay intends for me to, many sellers don't see that as being fair but but what I do, is I put in my pocket the BONUS dollars from snafus such as this one.

Again "win some, lose some."

I just have to be willing to do it in a way that isn't quite right or fair or equitable by my book.

Well great minds think alike.  In this case we also mess up alike too.

I did the same darn thing yesterday.  It was just 2 orders, but the same buyer.  I didn't catch it until the packages were already gone.

I won't be contacting the buyer or anything.  I'm not about to cause an issue I just don't need.  But normally I would combine them together and give the buyer a refund less the non recoverable fees to include the 30 cent PP fee on the 2nd [or subsequent] payments.

Since i had 3 mistakes and you only had 2, does that make my mind greater than yours?  😉
