Sending Offers

I have decided to send offers to buyers who either are watching an item or have it in their cart. I understand the potential negative aspects to this, so I do not need advice on that.

My question is, how many times will ebay allow me to send an offer to the same buyer?  It seems that I may continue to send offers as long as the item has not sold and is being watched.

I do not want to send more than one offer to a buyer. (I know many watchers are other sellers).

Is this something I need to keep track of?

Thanks for the help.

You can only send one offer at a time to each buyer.  If you want to send a different offer, you have to cancel the first offer.  Offers lapse after 48 hours.  The terms of offers have expanded to individuals who have looked at the same item three times (so-called 'heavy browsers') so sometimes a listing may be marked as eligible for offers but won't show watchers.  Here's more from the community team (there have been some recent changes but this is the basics):

Thanks!

Why is it then that I still have the option to send over 90 offers, the same amount that I had 3 days ago?

Does ebay show I can send offers but then will not re-send to people who already received one?

You can only send 40, so not sure where the 90 comes from. Check out the above link from a few days ago.

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

It sounds like you have 90 items eligible for sending offers.

Hi,

I know you asked a different questions but I just thought I would add I don't think there are any negative aspects of being able to send buyers an offer. I love this feature because I always get a few extra sales at the end of the day win win

it seems the only orders I do get is when I send offers - it's a worth a try...

I often do this at season end (since I sell seasonally) - it works a bit like a mark-down sale but selectively.  There's nothing wrong with sending offers - our items aren't from the sacred grotto at Lourdes or anything (or at least mine aren't) and there's no moral issue to be argued, we're here to sell however we deem to be honest and fair.  Good luck with your offers!

You asked about keeping track - if you click "review all offers" (after sending your offers), it takes you to 'manage offers' and you can see what you sent there, time lapsed, etc.  IDs are still masked, though.
