Hi everyone! I have been on the fence with selling to other countries. I have opted in to the new program, I haven't used it yet? What countries to do & not do. Still adding to our store. Just started back end of August.
I would appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks so much and have a blessed day!

At the present time I do not believe you can "OPT" into the new program. EBay is still in the process of unilaterally transitioning sellers to the EIS program. You can however adjust your shipping preferences in your account settings to initially add a few low risk countries like Canada. Once eBay transitions you there is no reason not to ship worldwide to every country since eBay is essentially assuming all the risks once the seller has shipped the item to one of the EIS hubs. You can read up on the program at the following. EIS does have some restrictions and limitations that a seller did not have with the old program or that they would have if they were directly shipping internationally.

Regardless of the country, In general you are more protected when shipping to EIS.
If a buyer claims not as described, eBay will take care of that return and will cover the refund.

I've used EIS since its inception and previously I reported how great the program was. As the poster above stated, your only priority is to follow the EIS guidelines and get the package to the domestic service center.
However, recently there's been issues with buyers having to pay customs duties at the time of purchase and delivery. In other words, your customer is paying customs duties twice. I've had a few customers message me about this.
What I've noticed is my EIS orders have dried up, non-existent. I can understand why a customer would not want to use EIS: the costs are great. But, this recent double customs duties charges has mostly likely caused irreversible damage. It truly is a once burned, twice shy scenario... resulting in a customer no longer wanting to order in fear of being double charged.
I've thought about opting out of the program until I hear better news, rather than risk further damage.
I just wanted to give you my transparent and honest experience with EIS.

Thanks so very much. They sent me a message last week saying that I qualify EIS. It's on my listing page if I choose to use it. I am just a little nervous. Your post really helped me feel better about it. I can't thank you enough for the link as well. Have a blessed one and happy selling!
