Selling Limits

I have a listing that has 243 variations but I'm selling them one at a time. It's a custom item that the buyer choses the options and I make it to their selected options.

I sold one and tried to relist it but ebay seems to think I sold 243 of them and won't let me relist the item stating I will exceed my selling limit. I tried to get my limit increased but ebay said no.

How do I get around this?

Thank you.

Yes, you do not need to relist it after one of the variations sells.  If you get/have another of that same variation, just edit the listing and change the quantity for that variation, but if you relist it or sell similar, you'll have two listings with the same variations, which would be bad for you.

Could you give the item number ?  Need to see just what happened.   You did check to be sure you were not charged for selling that many?

I don't see the listing under this account

however, just guessing here, you do not relist the whole variation listing if you only sell 1 item...you replace that 1 item through your admin interface.

Thanks.

I used 'sell similar item' so when I clicked 'list it', I received the notice.

Is that the interface?

Maybe I'm reading this wrong. I have 243 variations, but it's still listed as an active listing with 242 available.

So, the listing is still active with one less available. Right?

Selling Limits

You aren't allowed to have anything listed that takes you above what your selling limit it.

For example if you had a selling limit of $1,000.  And you had 10 listings at $15 each that is $150.  Then 1 listing for 10 items at $85 = $850.00.  Those two listings would meet your selling limit, so you would not be able to list more until some sold and you cross into the next month.

While a listing with a multiple quantity only counts for ONE listing, for your Selling limit purposes each item in that listing counts against your selling limit.

When a seller desires to increase their selling limits, they are allowed to request an increase once every 30 days. Mark your calendar and every 30 days request an increase until you have your selling limit well above anything you think you will ever need. Below is a link to where you can go to ask for a selling limit increase. It is the third option in the link below.

Correct. Just go into that listing to revise your variations and add the quantity back into the one you just sold. And submit your revisions. I'm guessing your limit is under 486. As long as your limit is 244 or higher, ebay would allow the revision.
