Selling First Expensive Item Tips

I have recently listed and am trying to sell an expensive watch. I am only used to selling items under $100.

Is there anything I should look out for? I plan on only sending it to a buyer with a reasonable amount of feedback as well make sure they've had an account for a while.

Also I'll be buying the extra insurance. Does anybody know how much it costs to insure a $2500 item with USPS?

Re: Selling First Expensive Item Tips

Honestly, eBay is just not the venue for selling items like this.  The kinds of buyers who buy expensive watches, even used, go through a different sales channel.

I would suggest searching for "where to sell expensive watch" on Google, and then find a broker, consignment service, or other channel for your watch ... for example, Crown and Caliber.

I am more than a little bit dazzled that eBay would even allow you to list that watch.

To paraphrase Peter Clemenza:

"List the Timex.  Keep the Rolex"

Anyone care for a cannoli?
