Selling Decline

Has anyone else noticed a decline in their selling activity since the new change with Ebay.  Prior to changing my buyer purchases were constant.  Now I barely get a bite!

I’ve noticed it too. My newly listed items I put on will sit almost all day and night with out a single view. It’s very out of the ordinary. eBay had me verify my bank account (again) earlier last week after I did that everything plummeted. Not sure it’s connected but it was noticeable.

I've had a big slow down on all four sites where I sell.  I think @soh.maryl  is right - people are sick of being online.

Re: Selling Decline

No, I haven't noticed.  If an item is listed that is in demand it will sell.  If millions of people are not looking for what we list it has nothing to do with ebay.

More likely it has everything to do with Crypto currency and the fact that most people over 30 years of age own too much stuff to begin with and are finally realizing we have killed the planet through uncontrolled consumerism.

Re: Selling Decline

I Completely Agree, Ebay are now too controlling and too greedy, biased towards buyers and make a big mistake sacking Paypal.

Re: Selling Decline

I've had managed payments for well over a year now.  That is not the issue.  From Jan to June selling has been great.  It is July that effected my sales.  Big drop now.  Don't know why.  Maybe it has to do with people being stuck in the house with winter and covid 19 and so were buying on ebay.  Now that both those issues have eased somewhat, people are doing other things now.  But sales should only show, not stop completely.  There is something going on.

Re: Selling Decline

Ebay notified me by email that they were doing away with the Power Seller program.  I noticed that whenever they make a major change like this it always effects sales.

This is what buyers saw BEFORE managed payments:

Getting rid of the Powerseller program is NOT a "major change". The Powersellers Program has been completely meaningless for many many years.

I'd bet you can't tell me one thing that the Powerseller designation has meant in the past 10 years, the logo were removed about 10 years ago, no seller metrics are in any way based on Powerseller status, buyers could not see who was a Powerseller or not, there was no financial advantage to begin designated a Powerseller.

What exactly was the "major change"?

Re: Selling Decline

Starting to see a decline, but have been bad about listing this month. Have also started adding clothes lately so could also be my issue because it's a new category for me. Lot more page views this week, but no purchases. Could be because prices are too high though. Will see how next month goes and reassess.
