Dear community,
Is there a good demand for handmade crafts and decorations?
My mother is very talented in craft making. So I thought to sell them online.

Yes, my customers ask me all the time where they can get handmade crafts.

Hello!
What kinds of things are you referencing?

Hello and welcome.
To answer your question, it depends. What kind of craft items? Also take into consideration the international shipping costs, customs requirements, and time delay in items reaching the USA from Sri Lanka. Those factors have an impact on desirability.

That's great! There are many hand made crafts on ebay. Hopefully you'll get some business. Don't forget to register your bank account with payoneer and your ebay account with your country as a business, so you can get the ball rolling. Look forward to seeing your items. Good luck.

Hey! Welcome on board. Some humble advice. Go slow, learn how eBay operates, its complicated. Someone pointed out to me, it takes over a year to really figure it all out. When you run into glitches and gremlins don't sweat it too much. Above all have fun!!!!!

Yes, I have a relative doing well selling her crafts. But she said it was very slow go at first. There is both Ebay and another online platform that both have potential for craft sales.

There is no way to know how much of a demand for your mother's handcrafted items there will be until they are offered for sale. While it may be true that your mother is very talented, whether that talent is enough to create a demand for her creations remains to be seen.
Being that you're located in Sri Lanka, there are quite a few hurdles that you will have to overcome before being allowed to sell on eBay. Not the least of which is registering as a business with your government. I recommend that you start there after checking on other seller's sales results for the same types of products.
