Seems lately that I am receiving requests from buyers to return their purchase because they don’t fit. I clearly display the item with measuring tape to show the measurements. Should I be accepting these? I have already but not sure going forward. Any advice??

If you are selling clothing and shoes it’s prudent to accept returns. The bigger question is to whether you should be selling in these categories. I highly recommend you don’t. It won’t scale up.

You can measure carefully and show the tape measure in your listings, but some things just won't fit the buyer. Or they might not like the material, or the way it looks on them, or the color when they see it in person, or any number of other objections.
Returns are inevitable. You should accept them willingly, or sell something else not so prone to returns.

I notice you don't accept returns. Neither do i, but i am currently revising each to accept domestic returns, where buyer pays return shipping. It's not like i can refuse a return anyway. Buyers may be less inclined to initiate a return when they realize they are not getting a free return label. Just an idea.

Since you don't appear to offer returns buyers are forced to claim Not As Described in order to return, there is no way to decline those.
Well you can deny them but if you do it's a mega defect, eBay will refund the buyer , let them keep the item and you get a mega-defect that will end your selling if you get too many (which is not many).
Clothing and returns just go hand in hand no matter how well you describe.

I would advise taking buyer-pays returns - don't worry, you won't be inundated if you're giving good measurements.
ETA: The reason being that sometimes even with correct measurements, the piece doesn't fit the person right, or doesn't look very good.

You may want to have either a form response message created (if you do volume) or just message the buyers once they purchase to make sure they understand the size of the garments and if they have any other specific questions or needs. This may discourage any buyers remorse returns (always easier to blame it does not fit or not as described than admit returning because of taste/style) and does not take long if you have a saved message that you can personalize. (some may not like personalizing the message but if you use name on invoice, most if not all buyers have no issues) Online purchases can be made without any personal interaction which can make it easier for buyers remorse returns because many feel like its a victimless crime. (not actual crime of course) By personalizing the message and addressing any possible issues/excuses, it might help.
How you create your form response is important and you can incorporate other info like how you ship, what to expect with possible delays in shipping and a simple thank you for doing business with them.

Even with measurements, you won't know if it fits until you try it on.
I've got 5 shirts, same brand, same size and same style and they all fit different.

I actually do accept them, they pay shipping back. Once I have the item come back in good order, I will refund them. Thanks for the feedback!

I see some of your clothing pictures show a measuring tape but the ones I looked at only showed the length of the garment. It would be a good idea to measure waist, bust, inseam etc and put those measurements in the item specifics.
