Seller performance

After many years of selling and making thousands of dollars on eBay

ebay has benefited from my sells fees and monthly online store payment

i have hit a rough patch my seller performance is down we are in a recession

ebay offers no solutions ideas to help me grow

but what they do is threaten me bully me and they have for what ever reason will not allow

me to post any new listings . How does this help me or ebay ?

Make this make sense,  why kick me when I’m down? I thought we were suppose

to work together.  I can’t not force buyers to purchase I should be able to post new items

that help bring in new buyers, I have reach out to eBay for help and I get no positive feedback

all I want to do is sell and grow my online ebay store , how does punishing me kicking me when I’m down help

Why don't you tell us what the basic problem is?  What have they "threatened" and why won't they let you list?

If you have been cancelling orders, eBay will certainly come down on a seller for that.

eBay will not tell you how to run your business but they will enforce their rules and policies if not followed. eBay is a middle man for hooking up buyers with sellers,  they won't build a business for a seller.

If your account has been restricted,  be thankful they have not shut you down completely.  Work with the listings you have up now and try your best to sell those. The seller account defects you may have received will fall off after a year from the date of the defect. Make as many "successful" sales as possible to dilute the "defect percentages".

Chin up and push forward.  Good luck.

eBay is in business to make money for their stockholders. Sellers are just a tool to that end; eBay is not your friend nor your business partner.

Here's a link to eBay's help page about seller performance evaluation. It might help you understand why your sales are restricted.  eBay has serious penalties for sellers who disappoint buyers by canceling transactions.

What does "hitting a rough patch" mean?

Ebay doesn't care if your sales are down.

They do care if your service is not up to par.

How many orders have you canceled?

try reducing the prices on the items you do have listed....which are many.  You may have to sell at a loss until you get your numbers in line with e Bay standards.  E Bay does NOT care about your rough patch.  Most of us have hit a rough patch at one time or another.  The majority of us do something at least to manage it without expecting eBay to help at all.  E Bay is NOT your friend in any sense of the word!

This quest stands on the edge of a blade...stray but a little and you shall fail to the ruin of us all.

Yeah, you might get out of the hole if you put realistic prices on some of the items you have listed....

eBay DOES tell you EXACTLY why you've fallen below seller performance. You need to look at your 'Seller Performance'.

If tracking shows an item has been received by the carrier, you are NOT held back from listing.

If an overseas customer never receives their item and they open a refund' for non delivery and you ignore it and ebay has to refund the customer for you, then THAT could be why your 'performance' has fallen.

There are 3 things that will hurt your performance:

a.) Shipping (either not marking as shipped, or tracking shows carrier never received so therefore, in essence, not shipping)

b.) Refunds (not taking care of customers)

c.) Cancelling orders (this would also fall under not taking care of customers)

eBay is not gong to tell you anything that can be read in the policies, they assume sellers are reading them.

You did one or more of the following to be below standard (if your not sure why look in your Seller Dashboard | eBay

Seller standards policy | eBay

What happens if you are Below Standard

If your evaluation on the 20th of the month shows that you are not meeting our minimum standards, we may put limitations on your selling activity until your performance improves. To see what you can do to bring your level back to Above Standard, read our article on Monitoring and improving your seller performance.

Some limitations are applied straight away after the evaluation, while others take effect from the 1st of the following month. If your seller level improves at a future evaluation, the same time frames will apply for limitations to be removed.

Directly after the evaluation:

  • Your items may be placed lower in Best Match search results
  • Your selling limits may decrease
  • You'll be blocked from using Promoted Listings, and won't be able to create new campaigns or edit existing campaigns
  • Funds from your orders may be placed on hold until tracking information shows that the item is on its way to the buyer
  • You'll be unable to give a partial refund if an item is returned used or damaged
