Seller: Cancellation Question

     Hi, all! I'm a seller and I had sold an item earlier today. However, I've been out all day, so I wasn't able to prepare the order for shipment. A little bit ago I received a message from my buyer asking to cancel the order because she ordered the wrong thing (it was outside of the hour cancellation window). I have no problem with cancelling her order for her, as I haven't even paid for the label yet, but I had read previously that if a seller cancels an order, they could receive a defect on their account. I'd really like that not to happen. Should I cancel it for her anyway and deal with the outcome later (if there is something to deal with), or call eBay support in the morning and explain the situation?

You can cancel safely because the buyer requested cancellation.

Respond to a cancellation request from a buyer

 

just check buyer requested cancellation for the reason.

Cancel using the reason - buyer requested.

 

That will not result in a defect.
