Sell through rate

You have 88 active listings. You sold 22 items in the last 90 days. That's 110 listings total.

Your 90 day sell through rate is 22 / 110 = .20 = 20%

What is considered a decent sell through rate?

Probably depends on what you're selling -- high value vs. $5 items would have different sell through targets

While I always calculate in months instead of percent, sell through rates are massively different one person to another and one item to another. If you sell EVERYTHING then 25 percent or higher (12 months or less) is pretty decent.

Things like clothes, trading cards, postcards, DVDs, Ryan's world toys and Beanie Babies have horrendous sell through rates, while things like the calculators they let you use on the SAT have an incredibly high sell through rate.

That is more of a function of how you purchase your inventory to resell and then use the profit from those sales to finance more inventory to grow your sales.

If you pay cash up front for inventory and only plan to buy more inventory out of the profit from the sales then however long it takes to sell your stuff to hit profit is how long you have to wait.

If you use a credit card to acquire inventory you have until the bill is due to make your profit on the acquired inventory so you can pay the bill and then purchase more to resell.

Obviously, the quicker things sell the quicker you can grow the business.  Sadly, in early 2022 and following on the heals of changes that eBay made the sell through rate I previously enjoyed to grow the business doubled and tripled so sales pretty much went in reverse and have continued for 2 years running.  I hope they can recover.  I was forced to move inventory elsewhere to keep cashflow going which is sad because I prefer selling on eBay ... but the operative word is "selling".

Interesting you mentioned Ryan's World toys.

I guess they finally tanked?

They are a beg parent's for at Wal-Mart item, there are no adult collectors and the show is losing steam as the kid gets older.
