Searching for an item

I posted a portable headphone amplifier called a "Chord Hugo" for sale.  Interestingly, when I search for Chord Hugo, my listing doesn't show up.  However, if I include a "- cat" in the search string my post and others show up.

Any idea why?

Thanks

Re: Searching for an item

Hi, when I searched for "Chord Hugo headphones" it was returned with 7 other listings. When I input only "Chord Hugo" it was not in the results. fyi

Re: Searching for an item

Thanks for checking.

But wouldn't you think a more general search using just "Chord Hugo" would turn up my listing???

However, I do notice that my original search goes directly to "amplifiers".  If I hit "all" then everything shows up.

Just seems backwards that I would have to select an all search after the intial search rather than having the initial search do it through "all".

Re: Searching for an item

I agree with you. It doesn't make sense for Chord Hugo not to return you in the search results. It did appear when i input "Chord Hugo amplifier".

Re: Searching for an item

When I searched for just "Hugo" in the Consumer Electronics category, your listing was there, close to the top of the page out of 68 listings. I wonder if you added an Item Specific with both words "Chord Hugo" together if it would solve the mystery. It still doesn't make sense though since both words are in Item Specifics.

I guess at this point "it is what it is" sadly.

Appreciate your input.

Yes, the folks in San Jose, and throughout the tech world mind you,  imagine that all humanity thinks in the same manner as they do.  They are sadly mistaken.
