Scheduled listing fee

I'm trying to figure out why I would be charged a scheduled listing fee for a basic store yet I got this service free with no store. I've had to schedule 400 listings this month which is 40.00 more then what I paid with no store. I paid twice as much in scheduled fees paying for a store then what the store cost. I would think they could provide free scheduled listings for store subscribers since it doesn't actually cost them anything. And it's a huge cost for me. All my stuff sells so insertion fees I always get back. So I don't care about how many I get free. Is there anybody else that has this issue and feel like it should be changed. The final value fee is dropped a little with the store so it's better to have the store but then the scheduling fees eat into part of my savings . I feel like it's ebays way of counteracting the savings on my final value fees. All I ask is they don't give them free to non store subscribers.  Makes no sense.

When you “schedule” your listings, there is a fee. 

If you use fixed price with best offer, you do not need to schedule your listings.

No it doesn’t make sense but stores have paid for scheduled listings as long as I can remember.

Hello thanks for the reply. Unfortunately these are baseball card breaks and we don't know what breaks will sell for team to team. It goes to the highest bidder. So we can't do a fixed auction. We would have no way of knowing the high bidding price. It always varies. And you have to schedule them as they have to end in alphabetical order 1 minute apart to break open live after all 30 teams  end. The odd thing is offering free scheduled listings for non store auction listers. The 1st year I was in buinsess we paid no scheduled fees.

It's something I may call ebay about.  Not that it will make a difference I'm sure but it will make me feel better knowing I put my 2 cents in lol.

I haven't paid a scheduling fee ever.  And I schedule auction as well as fixed price, depending on what I'm selling and which ID I'm selling it thru.  But I don't use the eBay SYI form - I use a third-party software package called SixBit.  It includes a scheduling capability for any listing I care to use it for.  And I can schedule specific listings in specific order with a defined gap between listings - you're one minute apart and alphabetical order needs.

Yes, it's another fee - but if you're only managing a single selling ID, it's not that much, and you can manage as many listings as you care to for that one flat fee.  400 or 400,000 -- it's the same flat fee.  It's been around since the late 90's (I started this ID in '97, started using what is now SixBit in '99) and it handled be a very skilled and responsive team.  I worked with them as an alpha/beta tester for a good number of years -- and they still are open to suggestions from their user base.

You should also look at your Store givens -- each level Store gets a given number of free listings and a given number of free auctions within specific categories.  I'm seeing that same thing at work (yeah... I sell personally and turned that experience into an Online Sales Manager position for a local firm) -- we have a given number of freebies each month, but we also have free auctions in select categories.  Knowing that, we'll sometimes post new stock as auctions first, to confirm interest and check out actual selling prices of our stock.  We received a bulk lot of men's silk ties a few years back - for the first 2-3 months, we only listed them as auctions.  Then we switched everything to fixed price, setting our pricing based on selling prices for any given designer brand.  Now we run promotional sales every few months to finish selling off the last few pieces.

eBay used to charge everybody for using the Schedule option.  Then about 10 years ago during an especially unpopular fees update, they decided that non-stores would not have to pay to use the Schedule option nor to add a "Buy it now" option on their auctions. Calling eBay about it would be  a waste of tme.
