Has anyone else been having issues with scammers? Someone has tried 3 times to scam me. They seem to be targeting people who are new to e-Bay. Things to watch for: the person will send you an offer for either the exact amount you are selling the item for or just slightly under that amount. If you click on their name they will have JUST joined e-Bay and will have either 0 or low feedback. If they do have a feedback number click on it. The last offer I accepted the person's feedback was zero but now it is 2 with both comments indicating that this person is a scammer. They will send you a message asking them to contact them off of e-Bay. They will ask you to add an e-Bay gift card and they want to pay you via Pay Pal.

You're correct that they target newbies.
if anything seems suspicious to you, feel free to come back and ask questions.

Get rid of the 'Best Offer' and click the 'immediate payment required'.
All NEWBIES should do this. It won't stop scammers trying to scam, but they can 'buy' which takes it off the market and then begin to play their games with you all the while your item is now NOT shown to anyone else that may want to buy it and you have to wait 4 days to relist it after the scammer never pays for it.

Make sure you block them for any purchases.

If you have seen a buyer who has received a positive FB with negative wording, then you are looking at a seller who has not read the rules.
Sellers have not been allowed to leave negative FB for buyers for at least ten years. That includes positive FB with negative wording.
All that buyer had to do was to contact eBay and get that wording removed, seller would receive a defect. Not sure how many defects it takes for a seller to get removed from eBay permanently, so beware.

Scammers. It is a daily topic on these boards and in multiples.
The only way you can avoid these types is to use a fixed auction (Buy it Now) with Immediate payment required checked off and do not add the best offer option either. I would think you know what your items are worth and it sure would result in a lot less grief and headaches on your behalf. Others here have given you excellent advice, etc as well. Follow up on it.
Good luck with future sales. Sorry for your situation.

There are scammers specifically looking for new sellers! As always, they will try anything. Report it even though they will just open a new account. Keep on your toes and be skeptical at the beginning. Be honest and watch your back always, you will be fine.

Yes that happened to me when I was a new seller on Ebay. Report them to Ebay.
