I have a $150 item listed on another platform. Buyer was sending lowball offers of $40 then $65. Even before the $65 one was declined, they purchased it on eBay for the full price. New eBay account, created Dec. 2nd.
It would be obvious from the pictures that this was the same item/seller.
I have a bad feeling about this...

Nothing you really can do. Unless you want to take a defect hit and cancel for OOS. (Only you can make this decision because it impacts your account).
It's all speculation, you are expected to ship if they paid.
If you can't afford the risk then you probably shouldn't be listing it on eBay.

I am aware of all that - hence the WWYD. But thanks for responding.

Should be implied by what I said...
But if I have to say it directly. I would ship it.

Some sites have a reputation as being a flea market.
EBay is sometimes described that way, but really is not, compared to say MarketPlace or Craigslist.
Your paying customer looked to get a bargain on a questionable site, got turned down, and now has gone for a reliable site.
And it's 15 days to Christmas, which may also be a factor.
They paid.
You ship.
If you feel nervous, use Signature Confirmation for your own peace of mind.
Some scammers will not sign, since it "proves" they got the item.
(This has nothing to do with eBay's rule that items over $650 must use tracking and SC to win an Item Not Received claim.)
I assume this is the nightgown?

Thanks reallynicestamps -
Yes, the nightgown - I had the same thought about the signature confirmation, just trying to decide if it's worth the hassle of voiding the label and repurchasing. And it was not really a questionable site, just one more known for clothing items.

Nightgown for $150????
Who's IN it?
As a point of reference, MY favorite nightgown is one of my husband's cotton knit boxers ... preferably the one with big red hearts.
Or ... Goofy.

I have never listed the same item simultaneously on multiple sites.
Too many complications and risks.
By limiting the amount of sensory inputs I also gain from being allowed to be fat, dumb and happy instead of having angst over whether I am dealing with an idiot or a crook.

I would ship it to avoid the Out of Stock strike and then expect the buyer to pursue a partial refund after delivery for a fictitious defect. I would not further aggravate the situation with a Signature Required. They may work a day job and never be home to sign for it. Then get irate about having to make a trip to the Post Office. Sorry for your loss.

Buyer sees, Buyer buys, you ship.
Thems the ebay way & rules
All the rest is just paranoia sauce
